Re: Question on Traveller: Orbital

Star Frontiers, I played as a Space Opera, with sophistication of AD&D that was trying to be more adventurous than Traveller. But, I always found the FASA line of Traveller products always sated my desire for scientific mystery that Star Frontiers could never deliver. That said, MegaTraveller (a mil...

Re: Question on Traveller: Orbital

I read it more like Outland crossed with 2001 crossed with Deep Horizon crossed with Red Planet. Essentially, a Hard SF milieu in which you can use parts of Transhuman Space but really that game has evolved too far into computer-human integration that it misses some of the essential grit that makes ...

Re: [Zozer Games] Attack Squadron: Roswell

Paul, can you send me the file directly...as I cannot seem to access dropbox at this conjuncture. I would still keep the rubric of the Cold War, as you have done but just shift sides. Afterall, clearly the Vilani, I mean, Invaders are applying a classic Imperial strategy of divide and rule. Thus, th...

Operation Blue Book! "That wasn't an alien you saw kill all those cows, it was swamp gas!" "That wasn't a flying saucer over the White House, it was the reflection of car headlights through a thermal boundary layer in the Troposphere." "Nothing to see here, move along." Now just look into the top o...

Re: If you could change the Vargr, how would you?

Certainly making them more aggressive is the key. About the only the reason I can think of that'd be remotely logical of why the Ancients would have Uplifted Vargr, besides just on some whim to "see if it could be done" would actually be if the Vargr were meant to be a control for various irritatin...

Re: If you could change the Vargr, how would you?

Certainly making them more aggressive is the key. These are not orcs but embodiment of all the worst nightmares of future humankind. However, as you interact with them more, you learn about the different sub-species that may or may not be as agressive. Essentially, I liked how White Wolf handled wer...

Re: What's left to explore?

To quote Douglas Adams...Space is Big, Really Big. So, even if the full force of the Imperial Scout service and Navy is called to bear...there are bound to lots of empty space. So, even if the Spinward Marches is a backward area there are parts of our Solar System we have not mapped and granted we a...

Re: Minor Alien Module 1: Luriani

Excellent work done here (save the art as whomever was assigned the art except for the cover did not read the text) - I will be doing a full review over at Drivethroughrpg later on (when I finish the whole thing) but I was impressed with attention to detail and believability of it all...adds a lot t...

Interesting stuff...I did not see this one on the forthcoming releases. Will exist solely in PDF or will there be a hard copy down the road?

Hinterworlds

As another thread mentioned the Julian Protectate, are the Hinterworlds going to get a Mongoose treatment - I know of a good writer who would be interested...and no, it is not me. Just change the picture of the Stalkers...in Challenge they looked retarded...I always pictured them from the descriptio...

Re: Neil Armstrong just passed away

Death like birth is the natural order of things. However, heroes cause us to look up and see the world differently. Neil Armstrong was one such hero. For he took what was of this fragile blue cradle and put it on another world(let). It was the first step, in a much larger drama of exploration of the...

Here's hoping that they will make a deadtree splat book or digest size release. Have the MgT Alien Module books but always like print.

Re: If you could what crew would you pick for the Prometheus

The crew like the original Alien crew are selected for their ordinariness (save David) which makes them a perfect Traveller crew. You do not need uber characters for Traveller - you need characters with smarts and very human flaws. BTW, I did not get the sense those were security/marines but actuall...

I like it...who gave you that brilliant idea of revising it... Agreed, it is difficult if you buy for multiple lines one solution would be have no more than 5 months listed and updated every month. With status updated, as close as they can be in real time. Aesthetically, I would use a chart format a...

I know that they want to get the Third edition of FS RPG out...but maybe a slim companion volume that would provide translation between both rules. As I have seen the playtest files and they are beautiful as the 2e but just adding much layers. Traveller would really benefit from FS injection...and I...
