Why would a player not just use emergence escape pods for both these tasks?
  • Just add a remote to your escape pod and there you got a cry baby.
    Rig a escape pod for direct entry and ensure lots of heat shielding and maybe a layer of armour and you have a drop pod.

True, but if you look at Mercenary, they explain how to take the new skills it introduced in careers not found in Mercenary. For each Core book career, it gives where if a roll of "X" skill comes up, one may pick "Y" skill, Y being one from Mercenary. Thus any career can take a Mercenary book skill...

I would love to see a trade cheat sheet. With all the charts you need for trade including the planet ones all together. It took us all most half an hour to do speculative trading last session and we needed to have a tonne of different pages all open at the same time.

Ship designed in dtons

So then here is the pain in my ass. I just designed a ship using dton squares; meaning that every square according to EDG is 2.4x2.4x2.43055 repeater making dimensions little strange.

How do you guys deal with deck width? or hull thickness?

I hope this stuff is in High guard.

Thanks rust and EDG!

Okay so what are the the dimensions of a 4 dton stateroom then?

My figuring sets the ceiling at 3 meters with deck width I suppose.

Making a stateroom 3x6x3 meters and a bit or a total of 8 squares with two squares high.

Does this sound right?
