I remember that the tanks were used as artillery. When ever they needed an artillery strike, HQ would take command of what ever tanks were local and indirectly fire them, they also did this for point defense and counter-battery fire.

While the Slammer's reputation is for tanks, they do have cbt. cars, infantry, C3, and Intelligence (The White Mice) units, the only thing missing is Artillery. While I'm a big David Drake fan, I really don't see a need ,other than the Mercenary Book, for a supplement specifically for Hammer's Slamm...
