Combat Action: manoeuvre for position
I've set out a proposed action that develops the movement / engaging actions. It seems sensible that people would attempt to get some benefit when closing to attack, which their opponent may want to prevent. Comments, thoughts welcome. Combat Action: Manoeuvre for position An adventurer may spend a ...

Damaging opponents weapons
Hello, Can anyone help me with the following: Can you deliberately target an opponents weapons in order to break them without needed a combat manoeuvre? The damage weapon manoeuvre seems more an opportunistic move that you take while also hitting the foe directly. What is I target their weapons, and...

[/quote] Except that as written, delay doesn't do what you claim it does. Delaying doesn't let you interrupt another person's action it simply lets you wait until later. As RQII has no formal declaration then any interruption is merely a case of GM fiat. When you add that in with the fact that actio...

This is why I don't like Movement as an Action. Common sense should be used in all movements, combats and pretty much everything. If the Big Orc Grunt can't move to try and intercept someone moving past to get at the Sorcerer then there is a big problem with the rules and Movement should be thrown ...

On a related issue, I note that Knockbacks are still effective against Damage Resistence. That implies that certain combat manoeuvres will also be effective, those that don't rely on causing a injuryge. Bash Opponent is a development of Knockback, so could be used. Trip opponent is another. Perhaps ...

Climbing movement?
Can anyone help me with explaining what the movement rate for the Climbing use of Athletics is? The errata says all references to CA should read combat rounds. Okay, that’s noted. So, the text says that a character can normally move 2m per combat round (given errata). It then has a formula for worki...

Is that a Mongoose east or a cardinal east? He's sprinting so an skill cannot exceed Athletics - yes? The attack roll with bonuses for surprise and rear attack could be much higher than Athlestics. I'd probably rule No: although the Athletics test could be simple or easy (so a higher skill), ...

Well, the question of how RQII differs from its Mongoose predecesor has been discussed in great detail elsewhere. For me the key difference: RQII is more refined and really really comes alive when you start creating worlds, NPCs, communities, monsters, magic and of course adventures. I'm develop a h...

In terms of pure source material, and for many of the setting specific rules, there are relatively minor changes - especially for Elric. However, the RQII rule set is simply a league higher in terms of playability, flexibility and fun. For me it is the best iteration of the RQ system to date. So, I ...

Thanks Loz, the description of where the gt market is still appears wrong: if it is in the west (or on the west bank), then I think the main compass orientation is fine. If it is meant to be on the east side, then the whole map needs turning around or the market moved so it seats in the shadow of ar...

Pavis Rises questions
I have Pavis Rises at last. I'm slowly reading it, and am reserving judgement. It does, however, make you want to read it (which is promising) and, Pavis really is Glorantha! A few queries and errata: 1) Page 25, the Arrowsmith Citadel - I cannot reconcile the description of the citadel with the map...

You may find a modified or developed version of Spirit Magic may be better than Divine Magic. I've only read one or two of these books but I remember the priests needing to draw strength from each other in a ritual and that they magically imbued some of their members with extra powers. Using Spirit ...
