Is this where I start talking about being a Libertarian so someone will go nuts about Libertarianism being off topic from Communism.... and then the thread will get deleted?

Major replacement surgery today costs as much as a car before insurance. I had a kidney stone taken out once and that would have set me back quite a bit had it not been for the insurance so I am totally fine with futuristic leg replacements costing as much as if not more than vehicles. And obviousl...

Sorry... just spent the whole day before that telling people over and over that it wasnt a new series or a reboot. Just reflexively answered it yet again.

Yeah, I've seen several of his posts on here and I got the distinct feeling he believed the word "weasel" under his name meant that he was the moderator.

Are you familiar with Iain M. Banks' "Culture" series? Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Culture for high tech-level ideas. Interesting. Thanks for the tip.... I'd never heard of the book or the author, but a quick look at the wikipedia article has convinced me to look deeper. Thanks.

LOL 20 years overdue? I'm willing to bet its a port over of Mark Millers T4 Pocket Empires rules. Perhaps you know something I've missed, but the paragraph description looks far more like Grand Census or the later cultural section of WBH than it does PE. Now, admittedly, the title "Dynasty" does so...

Thats ok. I bought a dodgy heavy metal concept album on the strength of it being about Traveller.

And yeah, its fairly decent. I've heard worse.

Well, using some cash I received during Christmas, I bought several books for Traveller including JBE's d66 Compendium. This book is stunningly useful.

3 days after getting it in the mail, it was already being used during my Saturday night game session to name an NPC and a local bar. Great stuff.

I have a copy of the Robots book on its way to my home now... so I cant say I'm looking forward to purchasing it, though I am looking forward to receiving and reading it. I'm quite interested in the campaign guide. This is one of those "toolbox" sorts of things that can, if done well, really help ou...

Reft Sector is an alternate universe?

Re: Unified World Government

Thinking of a Traveller setting for roughly 2250 Gurps TL 10. J-1 Available. World Earth be under a one world government? I would think it would be a loose federation with cooperation handling big projects like orbital beanstalk, disaster relief. Or would it be similar to the US? A federal state? W...

Well, those certainly look more like patrons than the "NPC encounters" from the last book. I hope the rest is quite similar.

The art....well...to be kind, is underwhelming.

This is good information to know actually. I was unaware that I would not be able to read pdf files on a Kindle. I had planned on using a Kindle (that I would buy in my near future) to hold gaming books in pdf format.

If I cant do that, well, I may hold off in my Kindle purchase.

Yep. If you want some interesting NPCs its an ok book. However, if you want patrons, well, you'll be disappointed.

Yeah, I have to say that I've enjoyed all the books I've bought in the Mongoose Traveller Line (the main rules, the sector books, the alien books, the career books) and, while I've made some changes to them (something I do to any gaming book really) I've been pretty happy with them. To me, the one t...
