I like this, as I've had PD laser systems written up for TNE and GURPS Traveler which was then retrofired into Classic High Guard rules and even T20. Aye. I too was at amiss not finding the meson bays. But it seems they've been replaced by a "poor man's" version, the Tachyon Cannons. Similar principle but doesn't penetrate through all armour. It also looses its penetration ability vs. molecular bonded armour. Apparently that stuff is it's krypton...

The ironic thing is that my current Traveller campaign is using Mongoose rules system with the Classic Traveller Adventure! Now it will be official. Great minds and all that, right? ;-)

Midrange for most when starting out, then higher tech as they get to it, and can afford it. Every once in a while I'll throw in a TL15 or Even TL16 gadget from X-TEK just to make the Player's lives more interesting....
