Wow! Very impressive! I wish this guy had done the cover.

For my own two cents, I don't care for the new Legend cover either.

The RQ6 core rulebook will specifically not have Glorantha in it, so that people with no interest in Glorantha don't have to buy pages they don't want (my favourite bit of the announcement). It will still have CMs and hit locations, but sounds like it will also have more new stuff as well as fixing...

This is tough. Loz and Pete wrote the core book and most of the good stuff that supplements it. It sounds like Loz and Pete will use the same basic system in MRQ2 with some small improvements. If anyone is capable of perfecting this system, it's those guys. I'm very intrigued with what Loz and Pete ...

Those are fantastic character sheets, a vast improvement over the original. The female version is a nice touch. I particularly like the inclusion of the hit location table on the sheet.
Thank you for posting them!

As a newcomer to d100, I have went through Chaosium's variations but really liked what I read in RQII. Usually my adult gaming group plays Gurps in every genre, some Battletech or D20 on occasion. No one there seems too interested in trying something new, so my family and I went camping for vacatio...

I see your point, but I think your issue is addressed by how wound levels affect different locations. At worst a serious wound to a limb renders it useless. If it's a leg, the character falls prone. If it's an arm, that arm cannot be used to wield a weapon or shield. In either case the character can...

Besides, in the new "reader's digest" size, a comprehensive setting book that includes the core rules would be pretty thick. I can't help thinking that that is a catastrophically bad idea. Art and maps are going to suffer, for a start. I'm not happy about the new "reader's digest" format, but I und...

I agree with taxboy. Mongoose should stick to its current format: One generic core rule book applicable to any setting and separate setting books containing only material pertinent to that setting. Including the game system with every setting book creates redundancy and uses up valuable space that c...

Re: Wayfarer Tweaks: Improving on RQ2.

I agree that the term "magnitude" should be changed to "intensity", but IMO Grimoire/10 should be called "magnitude". Nope. The reason why it is called "Magnitude" is well thought of. In all the countermagic/neutralize/shield spell, no matter to what magic system they belong, it is clearly stated t...

Re: Wayfarer Tweaks: Improving on RQ2.

Given that RQ2 is about to change is it worth having a thread (This one?) to flag up areas that need ironing out/clarification/tweaking? *I'd suggest adopting the change from the term Magnitude to Intensity (Which will also be familiar to old RQ3 players like myself) for Grimoire/10 as suggested in...

Does anyone know when the RuneQuest licence runs out? I'm guessing that you already read the official announcement about Wayfarer, but just in case, here's the excerpt from that announcement that addresses your question. "The Wayfarer rulebook will be appearing in the winter this year, and the curr...

Will Mongoose still be allowed to sell out-of-print RuneQuest books once the license has expired? Or will all those RQ books have to be pulled from Mongoose's on-line shop? They will be pulled - repeat, the RQ range will _not_ be moved into the OOP section of the web site. Sounds like anyone who wa...

The magic system can be cored out and rebuilt from the ground up. It's like a legacy system, a relic of the old game, and with its core raison d'etre - questing after Runes - gone, there's no need for this system. As others have said, the magic system has nothing to do with runes or questing, so wh...

It is the magic system I am not so sure about. The current system offers an interesting mix, but I wonder if this is too Runequest and rune centred for generic use? I've been trying to think how to bring the RQII magic system somewhat closer to generic high-magic system, ala. D&D 3.x, and I see som...

I'm most likely going to stick with Elric MRQ2 and the core MRQ2 books for the foreseeable future. I just don't see any point in buying Wayfarer really if it's the same as MRQ2 in everything but name. I just bought "Empires" and "Necromatic Arts" today. So of the core books all that I don't have is...

NPS, I've also put the errata up on the MRQ wiki here: http://mrqwiki.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page#MRQ2_Elric I'll keep it updated as new errors are discovered. BTW, I assume you already know, but I don't work for Mongoose or anything I'm just doing this as a fan. So none of this is an "Official er...
