Re: Blue Shift Unveiled

Sounds interesting, might be one to get involved with from inception, (I always join the popular stuff too late). One question though: What scale are the figures? Normally it doesn't really matter but I did notice the game is linked to Reality TEch which will be a 6mm scale game if I'm not mistaken?...

Well, it all depends on whether or not you are a 'Pro-Life' Gloranthan or not... To some all life is precious, no matter how Chaotic the baby is. If a temple were to aid in the termination of the foetus the Priest that helped might be beaten to death by placard waving funda-mentalists. Watch out! Y...

I know I'll be hated for saying it but ... If the screen had a plastic folder on each of the GM panels it would be perfect, (the idea being you can customise it to your needs, not just for the general game but maybe for a specific scenario). I am tempted to glue in my own plastic wallets but I want ...

yes it maybe trade, but one of the golden rules of trade is look after your customers, take them for granted and they will go elsewhere I can't help feeling that Mongoose have in fact done just that. I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth but speaking from my point of view and judging by the c...

I think I would be tempted to rule that a shield, strapped to your arm, would be too restrictive and would have to be dropped to cast spells. But that's just me.

Don't lose faith! My comments ... I wasn't sure what the red cells were when you allocated skill points. When allocating skill points the total just went up and then red when it was too much. Could it possibly count down, so you can see what you have left. Also I think it let me finish without using...

I think there is something in making the use of the extra CA clear that aids the story telling part of role playing. I don't think it's complex to track if you use counters for CA's and I do.

Cheers for all the comments :)

I think having the extra CA is such an advantage it's a nice idea to track it's use, which if you use a different colour poker chip is easy to do. If you fight with 2 weapons how do you currently decide which one you are striking with? (no rule book here at work). You just say "I attack the trollki...

Re: Why "Bypass Parry"?

No, not all of the time. It is still possible to suffer a CM even when you successfully parry, for example if I roll a critical attack and you roll a normal parry. :) I think that's the only situation it becomes worth doing, right? It should probably be a critical only CM as that's what it effectiv...

If you score a hit with a down modifier applied then you hit the target. If you score between your modified attack score and your normal hit roll modified up then you hit someone else at random. A miss is a miss and a fumble a fumble. The problem with that is this. If you hit a random person due to...

One could deal with the issue in general by applying a modifier to the to hit roll dependant on the number of combatants. This would be on the premise that a) you might not hit your intended target, (yes I know obvious, that's what has just been discussed), and b) that the joint target is bigger and...

Once again folks are looking at the rules from a metagaming level, not a cultural one. Its entirely possible that a Humakti cult forbids the use of shields for example, even in a world where they are commonly used by everyone else. I think that's a little harsh Pete. A lot of people here wil...

I as one of those suicidal types who has at one time or another been involved with reenactment groups I can attest to the fact that fighting with Sword and dagger is quite different from fighting with 2 axes and very different from fighting with a single sword. Thanks for the views Loz; "fix" was not quite the right word in my original post, I didn't mean to imply anything was broken! I suppose what I find hard to reconcile in my mind is that it feels natural to get more attacks per round as you become more skilled in other words a skilled warrior can take...
