Re: What would The Emperor do?

Summon him to Coruscant, electrocute him with Force Lightning and … oh.

Oh! Probably either of Sigtrygg's suggestions.

I don't have any suggestions.
I would like to offer my moral support - good luck, and may you find a good solution!

Re: Is DNA universal

My rule of thumb is if they ask, some do and some don't.

My other rule of thumb is that no species that evolved on different planets can interbreed - if we can't interbreed with cats that evolved on the same planet as us, we can't interbreed with aliens which evolved on different planets.

I don't know enough about MGTv2 to comment on the mechanics of the design, but I enjoy the concept of the ship.

Especially the translation "slow moving but it gets there."

Re: Ship's Locker: Out of the Closet

By Condotierre: Cut Fast Drug Speaking of which, merchant ships optimized for a fast turnaround, don't really want passengers out of it for ten days, so instead by cutting the drug by six, it should be divided by seven, which is slightly less than eight days, thirteen and three quarters hours. That...

Re: Look Ma, no batteries needed!

It reminds me of Foundation, and how Terminus managed to come up with fission reactors smaller than a human thumb. It's interesting, but the probability is that the power generated is probably too little to do anything truly useful. Power an LED torch maybe, but anything else you'd probably want hu...

I recently grabbed the free Third Imperium Campaign I: Secret of the Ancients and wonder if the lore in the book is compatible to New Traveller or will New Traveller also have some reboot of the Setting lore?
It's as valid as you want it to be. Have fun with it, and use the lore you want. :)

You can always tie it to a survival skill.
Go for it if you like it.
Personally I would still use Vacsuit skill - as in, time spent in a suit in 0-g.

Re: The Type-Y kind of Yachts we should be seeing

I've designed a couple of different yachts in my day, such as the Milky Wader class which is floating around here somewhere. One is simply a J-2 variant with neither ship's boat nor ATV, while the other is J-2 M5 speedster vessel. I designed them precisely because of the issue you've described, so l...

Three subsectors in Trojan Reach are Imperial territory: Pax Rulin, Gazulin and Tobia.
There is nothing to stop your player from being from there.

Re: What happened to Zero-G?

To be fair, the zero-G skill itself was very rarely used, more or less a passive skill. Most of the time when there is no gravity I imagine the traveller will be in a vacc suit, so that skill could be used, or athletics(dex). Vacc suit could even be suitable if a character needs to manoeuver in zer...

Re: Why Sindal?

Why not just substitute a Far Trader for the Free Trader, or use another small J 2 design? Remember, there's no such thing as a "beginner" ship, only a range of ships that are suitable for your campaign type. On the J1 thing, another option is to add collapsible fuel tanks to a free trader -- a chea...

Re: Pourne, Drinax and Asim

Thirdly, as noted, Oleb may have paid them off - or, more deviously, paid off enough internal factions to keep the government paralysed. I doubt it'd be with advanced tech, though. High TL tech is Drinax' one sustainable advantage, whilst priceless works of art and their associated cash value are a...

Re: MgT HG 2e Special Fuel Tanks (Collapsible, Demountable, Drop Tanks)

In my 40 years with Traveller never have I ever heard that fuel bladders are permanently integral to a cargo hold. There is no rule that says they are permanently fixed, nor is there any rule that says they are removable. By default components are permanently fixed, so I assume Collapsible Tanks ar...
