Re: Adventure ideas for a campaign in Jewell?

You can get more world data at: http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Vilis_Subsector and http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Jewell_Subsector . Something that I've just thought up which might work for you is the PCs are traders for the Federation of Arden (although some of them might be ex-Impies or ex-Zho c...

Re: Ready made PC's

Googling the Living Traveller pregens turns up this link http://www.wuala.com/AndrewW/Traveller/tlcpregens.pdf/ where you can download six characters.

They are probably still on the Mongoose site somewhere, but I don't know the link.

Re: Looking for some clarifications for 2300 AD

1) Assuming it works the same as population modifiers in Classic & MegaTraveller, it is a multiplier to the population code. For example, if you have a UPP with a population code of 5 (hundreds of thousands of people) and a multiplication number of 4 it means 400 thousand people. 2) The way I read i...

Re: Traveller 2300ad?

I've run it a couple of times and am planning a couple more games in the new year. As Lemnoc says, it's a lot more gritty and small-scale than the Traveller universe by my players prefer that 'frontier' feel.

Leisure Games will also be at Dragonmeet.

I'm running one of the Traveller games at Dragonmeet, but I know there are a few being run over the day. It would be good to see you there if you make it.

Where else are you going in the UK?

Re: Deneb Sector '84

Games Workshop published a couple of sectors around the same time. Which ones? I know they started the work on the Trojan Reach (as seen in Adventure 4: Leviathan), and commonly re-published other works for the UK market, but this is the first I've heard of them going beyond the little bits of Troj...

No fault. I wrote for a couple of issues of Q&Q, but earlier on.

Re: Paranoia publication date?

I'm fairly sure PARANOIA debuted at the 1984 Origins convention (Origins International Games Expo) in Dallas, Texas. Dates given online for that convention vary, either June 23-27 (according to Alan Emrich, http://www.alanemrich.com/CSR_pages/Awards%20Pages/CSR1984.htm ) or July 5-8 (Wikipedia, htt...

Re: Deneb Sector '84

I've just picked up a copy of Deneb Sector and kudos to Rob Eaglestone for describing this sector, especially the political machinations. However, I'd like to ask if anyone remembers the version published by Dave Hulks et al in 84/85. This was before I started playing Traveller, being preoccuppied ...

Re: Lore question- 4FW/Zhodani/Ine Givar

So I'm thinking its a game set in 1090, 6 years after the Fourth Frontier War. While Prisoners could have been taken from naval ships, can anyone suggest any worlds or famous ground battles from this period that might be useful? Try Quar, Esalin, Yres or Menorb. Re: Traveller as a Convention game

What do you think about letting the players finalize the connections and choosing the package skills to finish off the pre-gens? That would allow them to flex a little bit of creativity and forge a little bit of shared backgrounds between them all without eating up a lot of that precious 4 hour tim...

Re: Traveller as a Convention game

More thoughts (I'm making bread so I had to step out after the last post). Don't make the pregens too complete - give the players something they can personalise. For example, the character name or something that makes the character memorable. When you've introduced the rules (and any player intro in...

Re: Traveller as a Convention game

I've run Traveller at many conventions over the years (I started DMing at conventions in 1979 - gulp!) and I agree with Gypsy Knight Games that Traveller is a very easy system to introduce to players. I've never been to Origins (it's a bit far from the UK), but if it is like the UK and European conv...

Re: govermental views on psionics

I've been reading up on K'Kree for a campaign I'm planning. According to the Classic Traveller alien module, psionics are not illegal in K'Kree scoiety but because they are contrary to tradition the only K'Kree who pursue psionic training are those whose place in society is to conduct research - and...

Re: ** MONGOOSE INFANTRY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS **

I would like to do this, as I demo Traveller and Paranoia at RPG shows in the UK whenever I can. Sadly, as I don't have a local games store interested in demos for anything other than CCGs I'll have to pass. Just think of it this way even if you only do it twice a years at conventions it, builds th...
