Yeah, but two things: 1. You do your casting in metal, no? Materials are more expensive. 2. Cost goes down with each successive casting from the same mold; hopefully you get enough castings out of each mold to pay for itself (and maybe even make a profit, in your case) before having to make a new one.

Yeah, you'll find that casting your own minis in resin can be pretty expensive if you've never attempted it before. Even if you get your molds and casting perfect the very first time you do your own casting, that first mini is gonna cost you $50-$75 or so in material costs. MUCH easier (and less exp...

Ok but if the company is no longer producing said music, or minis? Irrelevant to copyright law (UK or US, at any rate). Copyrights do not expire because someone isn't producing a particular work (whether it be music, art, sculpture, books, etc.); they expire (U.S.) 75 years after the death of the a...

Except for a whole bunch of gamers wanting either a TLT Valen or Vorchan mini in their hands. :)

Hope the new owner enjoys it. IMO, that would've been better spent on a good optical exam and some spiffy new bifocals. :P

For what it's worth, not that I'll play it, but my guess is Traveller. Not until Ad Astra's Traveller license to produce a space combat game has expired/been sunsetted, at any rate. And I agree that B5 CTA probably won't be making a comeback - even IF MGP survives that long as a company. B5 isn't e...

Few of the Mongoose designs do anything for me (IMO most don't fit in with the rest of their respective fleets, visually speaking), but the Brivoki is by far the worst, followed closely by the Liati, WS variants, Myrmidon, most of the Armageddon-level designs, and the other "new" Brakiri (Cidikar, K...

Nope. At least not 'round these parts (and that would include players AND shop owners).

I sold off my minis a few months ago since I was expecting something like this to happen. No animosity towards Mongoose or Mr. Sprange, but that makes a total of five miniatures games (six, if you count SST twice) produced and then discarded by them. So ends my rampant consumerism as regards MGP. I ...

Msprange: Does this move also imply that the planned CTA game with original background and the planned CTA game based on an unnamed, licensed, property are "on hold" or not going to be produced?

As I recall, one of the last Babcom magazines from the old Agents of Gaming had a pretty cool looking experimental Narn fighter-torpedo bomber. I had it downloaded to my computer once, but that was 2 computers ago and I can't seem to find it on the web now. :( Anyone have a link to it or know where...

The number of people asking us to delete selling threads outnumbers those actually selling, and it seems a reasonable enough request. Sellers already have eBay, they don't need these forums as well. That's fine, but why are there still other threads that offer items for sale? I count at least three...

Question for moderators

On Sunday, I posted that I was selling my MI on eBay, with the item numbers listed (not linked). It was apparently deleted yesterday, yet there are two other threads by forum members announcing the sale of their SST items. Are these types of posts not permitted? If not, then why are others allowed t...

Still learning the new camera (old one was stolen from my office), so a couple more: ISA (with Brigade Models' Amrep New Jersey BC as Victory class, three almost-finished Nolo'tar sculpts, and a LotR Valen, made from an EA Oracle hull and some plasticard. If my LGS could actually get non-fleet box m...

too bad they're neither ACTA nor B5W ships... I don't care for the larger models for gaming (though some of them make nice display pieces). They tend to get in the way of each other when the action gets close. And, for the record, they are BOTH B5W and ACTA ships, since they are legally vali...

My Fleets

A few pics of my painted fleets (FA scale). I still have a number of unpainted ships for these fleets, as well as unpainted or partially painted Abbai, Brakiri, Cascor, Drazi, Pak'ma'ra, and Vree (plus a fully painted AoG-style Gaim fleet, and an ISA fleet that didn't want its pic to be not-blurry)....

most the fleets got minor changes. mainly to ships that never saw use so they were changed to allow them to be seen more. hardly any ships got downgraded (bimith to name one) and no ships got removed. the centauri had a complete change in style but seeing the number of guys taking these at the tour...
