Re: [Conan] Playing Online

Google Hangouts is a great way to game with online friends. You can have up to 10 people in a single hangout, & there's even an app called Tabletop Forge that adds several RPG tools to the hangout, including mapping tools and a dice roller. As someone who has been running online games for almost a d...

I haven't played every RPG out there, but from my experience, nothing comes close to the detailed minutiae of Rolemaster. Don't get me wrong, I had fun, but more because of the players, NOT the system. I'd give 2nd place to GURPS, which I also enjoy playing. I've really gone away from systems with s...

This sounds like the Vitality/Wounds system option for D&D 3.5. We used the V/W system in our S&S adaptation of our 3.5 game, and it was wildly popular! :) To make the system even grittier, I also created Battle Fatigue. Essentially, as you lost Wound Points, you would take penalties to your STR & D...

I've been waiting more than a week myself. I'm relieved that I wasn't the only one, as I was starting to feel like it was personal! LOL I'll try again. :)

Yeah! First concert was DIO on August 13, 1984. Twisted Sister opened up. No way! I saw that tour as well! In fact, I got to see Dio twice in the span of about 3 days. I had some friends in Minneapolis who had gotten me a ticket for Dio there in Minneapolis. When I got back to Wisconsin, I found ou...

I was kind of wondering the same thing. If the PC's killed a monster that was living in the abbey, couldn't they use the carcass to either win over the peasants by showing that they vanquished the beast, or at least scare them into realizing just how fearsome the PC's are?

Oh wow! I had nearly forgotten that I even had a thread here related to my game. :) Just a couple quick things. The first of which is that my Driveway account had some problems after they had some server issues. Since then I've switched to Dropbox, which is way easier to use and a much more direct c...

I've been reading this and trying to catch up; it's really fun to read. I had some ideas swirling around in my little head, but I'm going to have to email you some questions because parts of the campaign have me a bit confused. :) One thing is for certain, this has to have been a very entertaining a...

There's no Conan styled room without some lascivious Brythunian lass... But they're becoming pretty hard to find, these days... Heh, somebody on rpg.net suggested (obligatory warning of adult content ahead, the following link is definitely not safe for work) Real Dolls . Dress it up and chai...

But in this case, it was a matter of being lucky enough to remember seeing a thread relevant to another thread. But yes, I exude "rockness". :P All kidding aside, wyrmwood's set up ...

Yeah, miniatures are a must. Digital token just seem too... digital. the idea of using MapTool (which I've never seen before) with a projector an figurines sounds ideal. I just ordered a replacement bulb for my projector. Very excited. True dat. That's another great thing about MT. You can use the ...

Badass! And the price is right too. :D It's really pretty amazing, because a lot of people prefer MapTools, which is free, over other VTT's that cost upwards of $30-40. I have purchased several VTT's and I've got a couple of good ones. But free or paid, MapTools seems to have the most features, and...

That would be really cool. I've been thinking about running a Conan game using a VTT (because I can't find a game in Austin). I like the way MT looks but I haven't had the chance to really learn the system (and I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to learning new systems). I've been running a couple o...

If you use Maptool as your VTT, you won't have to have your players avert their eyes, as it has dynamic lighting and vision. Is this a PC only program or is there a Mac version? MT is a Java-based program so it works on PC and Mac. In fact, In my online group of 5 people, 3 of them were on Macs and...

If you use Maptool as your VTT, you won't have to have your players avert their eyes, as it has dynamic lighting and vision. You just run 2 instances of MT on your laptop; one for GM view, which you keep on your laptop screen, and one for a player's view, which you send to your projector. When a pla...

Back in Wisconsin I used a DLP projector and an 8' screen on the wall. I use MapTools as my VTT, and it worked really well. Well, something happened to my projector between Wisconsin and Nevada and it isn't working correctly. We just got a 52" Ultravision plama TV, and the maps look fantastic on it!...
