Re: CRB : Triple and Double Turrets (p158)

each additional weapon adds +1 per damage dice A pulse laser rolls 2D (2dice) for damage, and as you see above the additional pulse laser add +1 per damage dice, two dice gives us +2 per weapon. Two pulse lasers add +2 each, for a total of +4, hence a triple pulse laser turret deals 2D+4 damage. 2D...

CRB : Triple and Double Turrets (p158)

Hi, A pulse laser does 2D damage. But when I read this on p158 of the CRB:- However, if two or more weapons are of the same type, they may be fired together. One attack roll is made for all weapons being fired, but each additional weapon adds +1 per damage dice to the final damage total. It makes me...

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint

:) I like both, the SI prefixes (Go, metric system, go!) and the "lingo" name for money. Nothing says Scifi more than running a heist to tank a "multi yotta-chromium megacorp's business on a world. But I think lingo for money would vary from world to world or at least by sectors and cultures. The po...

A quick poll...

We mention the use of KCr in the Core Rulebook (as in Cr, KCr, and MCr), but we never properly implemented it.

Would you like us to do so in the equipment chapter?
Pretty much so, yes.
How do you intend to implement it?

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint

Things for you to consider:- * A glossary. Useful for non-grognards. * An index. Useful for looking things up in play. * An extended table of contents, to be put opposite the first printed page. Outlandish suggestion:- On Inside front cover and inside back cover, put the tables from the Traveller Re...

Re: Book margin layout suggestion

All good points. I'll get on to my Hobby Horse :) Starting with the 1st Edition Traveller Core Rule Book (and continuing with the 2nd Edition), I have typed up an extended table of contents and used that to quickly look things up. It complements the official, much briefer table of contents quite nic...

Re: Behind the Claw - Now in Stock!

I'd just like to say that this book surpassed expectations. It's a thing of beauty and a pleasure just to read for reading's sake. I'm currently reading Spinward Marches (Mongoose, 1st Edition) and would like to know more about Behind The Claw, especially:- * How it differs to Spinward Marches * Ho...

Viewing Traveller PDFs on an Amazon Fire HD tablet

Hi,

Is there anyone out there who views Traveller PDFs on a tablet?

Would be very interested to know if it works for you and what your experiences have been.

TIA,

Re: Official Traveller Core Rulebook Update

Thanks for the errata - much appreciated :)

There are at least two versions of the errata.

One from DriveThru RPG with a file size of 517601 bytes.

One from https://www.mongoosepublishing.com/downloads.htm with a file size of 548741 bytes.

Which is the correct one?

Re: Spacecraft Operations - Running Costs

Thanks to everyone for their feedback. I've been running a few numbers and they aren't as dire as I first feared. I do have an additional question. Passengers. They want space for their belongings. Namely High : One ton Middle : 100Kg Basic : 10Kg Low : 10Kg Now the ships cargo hold in this case is ...

Re: Spacecraft Operations - Running Costs

It's Cr 1000 per stateroom plus Cr 1000 per person, hence Cr 3000 per populated dual occupancy stateroom. The table is a bit confused. You're not kidding. Thanks for the clarification. Would be nice if Mongoose collated problems like this and kept them on their website. Or do they already do this? ...

Spacecraft Operations - Running Costs

Hi, I have a few issues with the economics of the traditional Traveller game. In particular, I am not sure that your typical troupe of adventurers could afford the mortgage payments of a new ship. One work-around is to give the players a battered old spaceship as a reward for a good deed or telling ...

Supplementing the Mg Traveller referee screen

Hi, I am reading about spacecraft operations - using the core rule book and High Guard, at the moment. I noticed the referee screen does not have much when it comes to spacecraft operations. Has anyone collated key tables to supplement the referee's screen? If not, I would be grateful to be told whi...

Passage and Freight Costs table (CRB)

Hi, At the top of page 207 of the Core Rule Book, there is the "Passage and Freight Costs" table. It lists Freight - for example, to transport Freight one Parsec costs Cr1000 but it does not say anything about the weight (tons) or volume of freight (dtons?) being transported. Could someone clarify t...

Transit Times table from CRB.

Hi, This is where I embarrass myself my displaying my ignorance of space physics... In my copy of the Traveller Core Rulebook (2e), on page 153, there is a table titled "Transit Times". The first column is Distance (km) which is OK so far. But the remaining columns are headed "1G 2G 3G 4G 5G". For a...

GMing: Tracking details during Combat (CRB, Chapter 3)

I am re-reading the Mongoose CRB (Core Rule Book) 2nd Edition, to improve my Traveller GMing skills. After working my way through (Chapter 3) Combat, I think I have come up with a list of details to be tracked by the GM during a combat:- * The Current Round number (starting at 1, just to help with o...
