Re: New referee and--Dear god, the mortgage costs.

Traveller is the correct spelling in the Queen's English

It is also my understanding that when Traveller was originally published GDW chose a non-American spelling to make it easier to use it as a trademark in the US

Re: Altering Ships

Umm, what's the situation that the captain can't access the bride? Someone seal her in? Hope she has extra life support. The layout of the Soho class is a bit awkward if there's an emergency. Bridge lower deck, cabins upper deck and a bit of horizontal distance too. Skipper wants fast access to the...

Are there rules/costs somewhere for altering ships?

(Soho class from JTAS if relevant)

Just to confirm to anyone, if you are waiting for your Behind the Claw, it is just about to be picked up by Postie!
And arrived today, thank you. The included poster maps are very nice.

Re: Behind the Claw - Now in Stock!

Now, the thing that does concern me are the UK shipments. Most of you received your copies within just a couple of days, but all those who have reported non-arrivals in the UK all just happened to be in the same mail sack when it left our building - which kinda suggests someone has 'lost' the entir...

Re: Passage aboard a Ship & TAS Membership

Maybe the high price for a J-6 ticket is based on availability of J-6 transport. I doubt there’s many civilian liners with J-6 capability. That's a fair point but I don't recall seeing many J% liners either. It does seem to be heck of a jump for both passengers and freight. I honestly thought it wa...

I am very sorry, they have not arrived in the UK yet :( However, they are on their way and will be sent out the same day they arrive!
Not to worry. Way things are I'm not getting worried about delays and it'll be here when it's here.

Re: Portable Low Passage

Nothing would prohibit such a thing. You'd probably see them in 2-3 Dtons for smaller sets of people. To be fair and account for the portability aspect, I would say you could fit 5 people in a 3Dton portable unit that also include it's local power supply which should be good for a few months at lea...

Portable Low Passage

Just wondering about more portable low berths. Something that can be loaded into the cargo bay rather than being dedicated to a particular ship. The advantage would be allowing berths to be moved from one ship to another for onward transport without the need to revive the passenger (even though the ...

Re: Freight and Passenger DMs

On lower tech worlds or lower population (either way less transport infrastructure) I always reckon there's a good chance a ship will have to deliver cargo lots across the planet. This also makes it easier to hook them into adventures away from the Star Port

It's the running cost table that threw me. It mentions both 3000 for double occupancy and 1000 per person

Re: Freight and Passenger DMs

Under the Broker skill it says it takes 1d6 hours to find a buyer but in the trade section it says that finding a buyer takes the same length of time as finding a supplier which is 1d6 days! I would say it's for different things. The Skill chapter describes a generic example task, the Trade chapter...
