BTC Deneb ducal map

Just curious. The map on p153 shows the extent of three of the duchies but the others are all the same colour. Just wondering why?

(and printed verion has the 3 in different colours whereas pdf they are in bue fading to their edges, wondered which was more up to date)

Re: Revisiting the Fifth Frontier War narrative

If the Zhos offered a massive technology transfer over 10 or preferably 20 years. to upgrade the SW fleet before the war it might be worth a punt. But that would invalidate a lot of the ships in the new SW book (or at least relegate them to second to third line duties. An attack on the Darrians whil...

Re: Sword Worlds - ebook & Pre-Order

I'd have lied to see some infantry weapon or option that gives the Swordies troops a reasonable chance against at least Combat Armour equipped Imperial troops and maybe that VM11 heavy sniping rifle have a chance against Battle Dress. The time-honoured way is a LAG aka Crunch gun. Take something li...

Re: Sword Worlds - ebook & Pre-Order

Fair point! Some thoughts: A VM-11 with APDS rounds has an AP value of 15, with average damage 14 plus aiming bonus. That’s gonna hurt! The weapons we see here aren’t everything they have access to, just a selection of unique gear. Laser weapons strike hard, both rifles and heavies, and are within ...

Re: Sword Worlds - ebook & Pre-Order

Looking at the CSC entries, the Sword Worlders sure have an interesting gun philosophy! I'd have lied to see some infantry weapon or option that gives the Swordies troops a reasonable chance against at least Combat Armour equipped Imperial troops and maybe that VM11 heavy sniping rifle have a chanc...

Is there an error on the Bonus skill tables for the Patrol career?

The pdf has 3 columns: Bonus skill, Security Bonus and Investigative and Interstellar Bonus
Looking at the skills it looks like the headings should be: Security bonus, Investigative Bonus, Interstellar Bonus

Re: Higher tech items on a lower tech world

I've always taken it that a world's TL represents the normal day to day tech available and used by the general population. With a reasonable economic base the elites will have access to better (and likely some mercenary group to back up the government/deter raiders) If no where else the Star Port wi...

I'm running a campaign on zoom (though it's a Star Trek/Star Wars crossover using Savage Worlds) and a solo Traveller campaign to try out the rules

Re: Shadows of Sindal preview? SPOILERS!

In Part 1: In Search of Sindal, the Travellers journey to Paal, which used to be a vassal world of Drinax. There, they discover forces attempting to recreate the vanished empire, and encounter a sinister bioweapon that turns Aslan into primitive, feral monsters. Sniffs...how would you tell infected...

Re: New referee and--Dear god, the mortgage costs.

Traveller is the correct spelling in the Queen's English

It is also my understanding that when Traveller was originally published GDW chose a non-American spelling to make it easier to use it as a trademark in the US

Re: Altering Ships

Umm, what's the situation that the captain can't access the bride? Someone seal her in? Hope she has extra life support. The layout of the Soho class is a bit awkward if there's an emergency. Bridge lower deck, cabins upper deck and a bit of horizontal distance too. Skipper wants fast access to the...

Altering Ships

Are there rules/costs somewhere for altering ships?

specific request is to put a hatch in the floor of the Captain's cabin to allow direct access to the bride

(Soho class from JTAS if relevant)

Just to confirm to anyone, if you are waiting for your Behind the Claw, it is just about to be picked up by Postie!
And arrived today, thank you. The included poster maps are very nice.

Re: Behind the Claw - Now in Stock!

Now, the thing that does concern me are the UK shipments. Most of you received your copies within just a couple of days, but all those who have reported non-arrivals in the UK all just happened to be in the same mail sack when it left our building - which kinda suggests someone has 'lost' the entir...

Re: Passage aboard a Ship & TAS Membership

Maybe the high price for a J-6 ticket is based on availability of J-6 transport. I doubt there’s many civilian liners with J-6 capability. That's a fair point but I don't recall seeing many J% liners either. It does seem to be heck of a jump for both passengers and freight. I honestly thought it wa...

I am very sorry, they have not arrived in the UK yet :( However, they are on their way and will be sent out the same day they arrive!
Not to worry. Way things are I'm not getting worried about delays and it'll be here when it's here.
