Re: Orbit to Surface with grav equipment

Ah, okay. I thought a ship's internal grav plates counteracted inertia?

Re: Orbit to Surface with grav equipment

I'm not sure if mass actually matters. Spaceship functionality is measured in displacement tons, not mass. A ship carrying 100 dtons of lead and a ship carrying 100 dtons of feathers have the same M-Drive and J-Drive stats. So mass is not a factor in performance. Contra grav may work the same way a...

Yes, I think so. And that is how I have been playing it, as I read the rule incorrectly.

Deepnight Revelation tracking sheet

Hi Matt,

Could the Mongoose design magicians conjure up a free PDF that the busy GM can use to keep track of all the things listed on page 3 of the Referee's Handbook?

The Drinax campaign had something similar for the Harrier, so it's only fair :)

Thanks - Dan.

The first expansion book (Riftsedge Transit?) includes a plotline on this particular issue.

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

Yeah, I get that. Thanks. What I don't get is why the mission planners, prior to the events of DN Legacy, thought the location had anything to do with the entity (the investigation of which, as I understand it, has been the true purpose of the mission since its inception). Maybe that last part is wh...

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

I'm currently running Deepnight Legacy, which is nearing completion, so I am thinking ahead to the scene in which the Travellers are offered positions aboard the DNR. I'm struggling, however, to figure out how the mission planners have connected the entity with the destination of terminus point. As ...

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

Nice. Thanks again.

Items 33 and 34 raise a question for me: what sort of disciplinary procedures will be in place on the DNR?

In the end, 45 meters doesn't seem too unreasonable given that you need room for fuel and you can land multiple 200 ton ships inside.
Works for me. A bigger ship better suits the scale of the campaign.

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

Thanks shammond. The length and widths I get, but how do the ECC plan explain 45m height for just four decks?

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

That's helpful, thanks. So, if I have counted right, the DNR is about 750 metres long, about 300m wide at the stern and around 12 metres high. Just trying to visualise the scale of it.

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread

The isometric maps for DNR give a scale of one square to 8 tons. What does that translate to in length, width and height?

Someone else on here has played Harnmaster? And has even gone to the trouble of using the circumflex? Critical success! :D

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint

I feel like a parent, watching their kid growing up inadequate next to the others in class. I feel your pain. :) If I've understood your analogy correctly, I think on the contrary you can be very proud of contributing to a ruleset that has given people like me many hours of fun. There's a lot about...

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint

Some very minor nitpicks: Difficulty, boon/bane and DMs: I’ve never really been clear about what situations to adjust the difficulty vs applying a boon or bane. The box on p.61 says difficulty is irrespective of exterior effects, but the examples of difficulties on p.58 include lots of exterior effe...

Hm, it seems not many people are currently playing Deepnight Revelation.
I'm intending to start running the campaign once lockdown is lifted, which hopefully it will be by the time the printed books arrive. I haven't read all the material yet - just the first few books. It looks epic.
