Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

Oh, I might have misunderstood, in that case. I thought that the updated PDF included corrections to minor errors that were pointed out on this thread (like 'diamter' on p.140 or the lack of a full stop at the end of the second para on page 2). If not, then no worries. I can live with mistakes like ...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

Thanks, I just did again -- I searched for one of the errors pointed out above (page 140: 100-diamter limit) and it still appears.

Thank you for your comments - the Traveller Companion file has now been updated. Simply re-download and you will be good to go!
I purchased the PDF direct from the Mongoose website rather than via drivethrurpg and just re-downloaded it, but it doesn't seem to be an updated version.

Thanks,

Dan.

Re: Vehicle Handbook: question about Hull=HP

Hi enpeze2, Yes, you have understood it correctly. It does mean that a good kick can put a dune buggy out of action :) The newly released Traveller Companion (p. 104) has a couple of options for getting around that kind of unrealistic scenario -- and I assume Mongoose doesn't mind them being reveale...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

I'm enjoying the Traveller Companion a lot. The few sections I've read so far (transponders,, starports, UWP data, travellermap) have already given me lots to think about in terms of how I can improve my reffing. (For one thing, I've been using travellemap for a couple of years, and never knew that ...

Applying critical hits and repairing them

I had various questions about how to apply the 'all effects are cumulative' aspect of critical hits, both as a result of achieving an effect of +6 or higher and as a result of sustained damage. 1. A ship with starting hull points of 80 sustains 24 points of damage from one attack -- ie, 30% of its s...

The State of the Mongoose will be delayed until January (because reasons), so I thought I would give you a little update...
Thanks for the update, Matt -- it's great having things to look forward to. JTAS sounds like a great idea.

I note the release schedule has brought the PDF forward to December. Hope that is true. Would be a nice Christmas present. :)

Re: GMing: Tracking details during Combat (CRB, Chapter 3)

I think that covers the basics, but I have to admit I find it hard to keep track of all the various modifiers in combat. Some other things to consider: - the number of boons or banes from Leadership checks - number of rounds before Combat Drug kicks in - ammunition spent (especially for fully auto a...

So, who should it be?
A senior executive from the Vorito branch of GeDeCo?

Or maybe the mother is actually an adoptive parent, and has kept the truth from the PC: he's a clone. The offworlder father is just part of the fiction.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Ok thanks, Baldo, though page 136, in three or four places, says four particle beams, so I was a bit puzzled.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Quick question for anyone familiar with Treasure of Sindal (by anyone, I mean, of course, referees only): the four codes needed are contained in the message globes sent to Drinax, Albe, Dpres and Yggdrasil. What's the code burned onto the wall of the base at Noricum for?

Thanks,

Dan.

Re: [Drinax] What do the people on the floating palace do?

Pyromancer, I'm doing lots of copy and pasting of your work - just for my own campaign notes - in case my players ever ask these kinds of questions. I hope you don't mind. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Excuse my butting in from the sidelines, but I thought Book 2 spelled it out clearly. See page 21: The Starport: The Aslan destroyed the original starport of Drinax, but the King’s personal starport qualifies almost as a Class A port. It lacks a shipyard, but can repair any ship that lands there and...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

The Far Furniture archives? Are they records from the Imperial War Cabinet? Or maybe the Bureau of Intelligence? :)

Thanks for the tips. Hard Times sounds interesting.

As for GeDeCo and infrastructure, they aren't the only game in town.
Rumour 46 says the Ine Givar are building a fleet. I like the idea of that and want to develop it, but there is already lots for the players to cope with at the mo.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

My Pirates campaign is in mid-1107 and the Fifth Frontier War is looming. Mine, too, actually and I was going to start introducing news of the war. But thought it might be worth going off piste from canon and using the FFW as the background event to trigger the finale. But, speaking of canon, is th...
