Re: What about a Citizen/Scholar book for Traveller?

I'd like to see this, including hunters/guides, terraforming workers, vacc-suit world colonists vs. open-air colonies, starport workers, and some suggested details on Trades by TL and cultural variants.

And the box set Privateers and Gentlemen - focusing on the U.S. maratime experience from our first 50 years, an RPG and a miniatures game together.

I also don't have the CSC, it never made it over to my local stores and the price is mighty high (HEY MATT - I rarely say this but, a $15 PDF would be much more attractive) ...

I don't want to re-open old debates, I was just double-checking (HEY MATT- THERE'S WAY TOO MANY TYPO'S AND ERRATA)

Re: The Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs

Only thing disappointing about the girls from Barsoom is their oviparous nature, frankly I'm a fan of mammaries, and find the 'glow' of expectant mothers very attractive (and that's where the gals from Caspak get creepy) - I grew up near Tarzana and have collected many ERB books ... the biggest chal...

Re: Traveller - Gamma World

LOL - yeah, the new Gamma World is for short-attention spans bred by the video-age. How can you ref a game when you have to create tech stuff and there are no rules, but whatever you do might be contradicted or rendered obsolete by some card they put out next month ? Changing Mutations every day, mo...

Re: Traveller Shields (like for your arm)

I think that the rule needs a little decrypting, IMHO - Parrying in the first part is related to having a melee weapon in hand and using said weapon defensively, they're saying using a shield makes your parry action that much better. (assumes weapon is one-handed) The 2nd part is about just using a ...

Re: Traveller 2.0

I appreciate Mongoose reinvigorating the classic Traveller setting. I'd probably pick up some "2.0" stuff, I have not been a huge fan of cybertech games and dystopias or anything nanotech but I have enjoyed Transhuman Space for GURPS enough to collect it - never found someone to run it. I use the MG...

miniatures ?

I came very late to the party but fell hard for SST, I really love it. What started with "oh, look at that, huh, I didn't like the movie because I'm a purist but my wife who never read the book really liked the movie - maybe she'll play this game" has turned into near a $1000 investment (spent $150 ...

Haven't done it yet but I'm thinking about having some legs emerging from a tunnel-hole, and building windows and doors. I'm also working on an idea for rules about the effects of mass-casulty "Bug piles" that allow some twitchy fragments to lash out at passing MI (remember how Johnny got speared in...

I've thought that the Sniper Rifle ought to shoot a D8 ... enough to reliably Kill those Warriors and Hoppers ... also has the effect of cutting Out of Ammo ... all together resulting in what I think is more like the film

right , " Piercing/X " , understood - still it seems that when I've got 15-25 figures interacting, rolling maybe 6 to 30 dice at a time it helps to be able to say "drat, those walls stopped most of my firepower - you only have to roll Save on these four" rather than have nine Saves to throw. I'd thi...

Thanks, in that regard I think the EVO aswer is more in line with what I'm comfortable with. The only thing I can say about Adjusting the Save is that it ensures the modifier is a constant but even that leaves me unsatisfied because I'd expect for example a steel wall to have more effect in blocking...
