I'd been wondering about the post copying going on at SFRPG for a bit and this seemed a fair tie in. So why didn't you just ask us OVER THERE ON THE SFRPG BOARDS if you had a problem with it? Or raised it via PM at least? Instead, you decided to use an already hot thread on another board to ...

Y'know, EDG says someone is my sockpuppet and the idiots think that's gospel. I never said anyone was your sockpuppet. I suspected it was. Also, insulting other users here is really going to get you further into their good books. How is it being his sockpuppet fighting his fights AND advertising SP...

So I am well aware of what we do "know", but I am also well aware of the tremendous amounts we still do not know. Apparently you're unaware of what we are capable of knowing without actually having to go out and get physical samples. Or do you think that everything we know about distant stars and g...

The lawyers present their arguments and then the judge decides whose argument is best supported by that judges interpretation of the laws as written. Since when did this have anything to do with what happens in a court situation? As you admit yourself, the law is used as the base for interpretation...

For me the center of all this crap (and yes it's stupid crap) is You , Al Beddow. The centre of all this stupid crap is you . Because you can't get over the fact that - for whatever reason, I have no idea - you don't like me. You have taken every opportunity over the past two years to slag me off (...

Lots of this stuff is 'observed' and lots of it is theory and conjecture. All of science is based on observation. We come up with hypotheses, we gather data, we analyse the data, we see if the hypotheses are valid - that's the scientific method. At the end of the day, if a hypothesis isn't ultimate...

I still think that it would be easier and less contentious all around if one simply posts ones own work in the forum one is making the point in. Obviously the good Doctor disagrees with that, to which I can say, "okay, whatever". a) copy/pasting a link takes less time than copy/pasting a wall of te...

We aren't talking IP here, we are talking about someone yammering about this and that on the internet. Posts on internet do not consitute "works" covered by copyright. Unless its a "Article" of their own original work, not when commmenting about someone elses game or their rules. If anyone owns "co...

A lot definitely seems to be constant, but there is still a heck of a lot we don't know too. Telescopes can only tell you so much. Telescopes and other detectors can tell us a hell of a lot. Especially when looking at a wide range of EM wavelengths. For instance, we can see the "Pillars of Creation...

Yeah, little about Gravitics is beyond Hypothesis, even so called Theories are pretty weak when taken off planet, so definitely there is still much to be learned before earth becomes TL 9. Gravity is pretty well understood in practical terms. The high end theory is somewhat wacky, but we know how i...

Since when is messageboard posts copyright protected? Copyright only applies to PUBLISHED material, not posted. What do you think "posting" is exactly? IP ownership has nothing to do with money or commercial gain - it's a basic recognition that anything that a person has created themselves is their...

I take it your not aware of how our planets poles change. Um... that's nothing to do with gravity. That's magnetic pole reversal, caused by cyclical changes in the circulation of the liquid nickel/iron that makes up our planet's outer core (and within which our magnetic field is generated). All tha...

Yeah, gravity still has "polarity" so it still has some commonality with magnetics. (In reality) gravity doesn't appear to have polarity. It's a field that always attracts things to a mass, there's no "positive" or "negative" gravity. Dark Energy has been referred to as "negative gravity" in some q...

P.S. I think there were 2 editions (TNE & T4?) - not sure what differences, if any... The TNE one was good, the T4 one was crap :). The T4 version was riddled with typo errors that made it pretty much unusable, since all the equations in it were mangled. Whereas the TNE version is the best tech bib...

FF&S had "contragrav" (CG lifters) that cancelled out gravity - but they only worked in a gravitational field and didn't provide thrust (you could use them to lift off from a planet though). It also had (as an optional technology) Thruster plates, which were the previously standard Traveller M-Drive...

As to the 100D precipitating early re-entry into normal space - EDG addressed that well - except the problem, that based on the book's example, one might normally expect to instantly re-enter normal space (being within 100D limit). Again, it's not symmetrical - the issue of jump precipitation only ...
