Re: [Traveller 2e] Psionics and range band confusion
There is no need to damage the character to make him unconscious, it can happen in other ways, like Assault. Assault does exactly what is says: Deals Effect × 3 damage, and knocks unshielded minds unconscious (regardless of damage), I assume. But where does that damage get applied? The core ruleboo...

Re: [Traveller 2e] Psionics and range band confusion
If either STR or DEX are reduced to 0, the Traveller becomes unconscious and any further damage is deducted from the remaining physical characteristic. So does that mean that a psionic assault always does enough damage to reduce a character's Strength or Dexterity to 0? Matt: can we get some clarit...

Re: [Traveller 2e] Psionics and range band confusion
Psionic abilities indeed use the psionic range bands. Thanks for that Matt. Whilst we're on the subject of psionics, in MGT 1e the damage from a psionic Assault is applied as follows: Unlike normal damage, assault damage is applied to Psionic Strength (if the victim has it), then Intelligence, then...

Re: [Traveller 2e] Psionics and range band confusion
So no official reply from Mongoose on this issue, then?
I still don't know whether to use the encounter range band distances or the psionic range band distances - which do I use?

[Traveller 2e] Psionics and range band confusion
I am confused about which range band table in the 2e core rulebook I should use for psionic abilities. The following paragraph is on page 197 (print)/198 (PDF) of the 2e core rulebook: Most abilities can be used at a distance and have a Reach characteristic. This is the distance (using the Range Ban...

Re: Book 1: Mercenary Second Edition - Now on Drivethru
We're being asked to pay to keep up to date on something we've already bought. Doesn't seem right.

Re: Book 1: Mercenary Second Edition - Now on Drivethru
Wow. So the 2nd edition is a separate product to the 1st edition, which means if you bought the 1st edition you have to buy 2nd edition separately to keep up to date, which then makes the the 1st edition redundant? Cheers for that then...

Re: [Universal Machine] Basic Character Generation 2d6 SF SR
It seems like this is an attempt to reverse-engineer some of the sections omitted from the "official" SRD - think of it as a Traveller retroclone :D ...snip... (Actually, some areas that Mongoose Traveller considers as PI were available as OGC via the T20 product line and could easily be ported acr...

Re: Basic Character Generation 2d6 SF SR
Isn't an SRD free... Not necessarily - just check out Mongoose's own Legend series of books. They are all OGC and can be considered to be types of SRD yet they're not free. Note that there is no free Word document version of Legend available. Although the d100 system itself, on which Legend is base...

Re: Basic Character Generation 2d6 SF SR
It's a scam of some kind on drive thru rpg. Selling sections of a core book at $1 a page. The PDFs are still for sale there. Nope, it's not a scam and it's not selling sections of a core book as none of the content has come from any core book - it's all OGC/OGL and you get a number of files in diff...

Marc is listed as the author on Aramis...does that mean that Marc has signed on to revisiting this Classic Adventure or it Marc with Gareth's help or Gareth with Marc's help. Also, is it a one-to-one mapping of the old adventure which was very cool or has it been updated... It's an update of the or...
