Re: State of Legend

Personally, I don't expect Mongoose to support this system. If they do, fine, if not, that's OK too.

The entire system is SRD now, so I don't NEED Mongoose. I can publish my own stuff and keep the system alive that way.

Re: House Rules: Additional Jump Drives

I have allowed several variants like you describe in my games at different times. One I particularly liked that you don't mention, works with the old LBB system, but not HG. Double Drives: You can mount more than one drive (different drive letters) and combine their effect (maximum is still 6). This...

Re: Is TAS dead?

I published one adventure via TAS. Unfortunately without the ability to advertise it, it was my lowest selling Traveller product.

I will not be writing any more under TAS.

Re: Modular hull question

How fast is the Moon moving? It went interstellar and trans parsec in a relatively short time. In the second episode it went through a wormhole, which allowed it to leave the solar system and then travel faster. I don't think they ever say how fast the moon is moving, but it only spends a few days/...

Re: Low tech ships - Need help

Easy way to sidestep some of these restrictions is to build a flap top in space. Mechanical elevators can bring a ship inside or take the craft to the external flight deck. The ship would then land or take off by itself. Antigravity would provide the small craft with the ability to be part of the o...

Re: Modular hull question

I think one of the confusions that come along is the definition and use of the word MODULAR and whoat it means. You can have a MODULE, which is a container that can be moved around. I think most of us understand what these are, freight cars, semi-truck trailers etc. They come in a variety of sizes. ...

Re: Hacking a starship

There has been a number of hacks on airliners, one of them was a usb charging port that had a data line to the charging computer which was hooked into the overall computer system with no security; Another one was through a inflight wifi connection which once again was connected to the main computer...

No reason you couldn't put a traditional stateroom (with luxuries if desired) on a small-craft.

I always thought that Anti-Matter Iron (OK, call it Nori) would be an effective form to store it in. Dense but magnetic which makes it easier to manipulate and isolate.

Re: Missile Drive velocities

WAY back, missiles usedt the same M-Drive technology and were limited to 6-Gs.

Later in MGT1, ships were 6-Gs but missiles were 10-G.

Now they seem to be back to missiles and ships being the again, but at higher thrust.

Re: Low tech ships - Need help

Well, if TL7 is current day, then I would say that Missiles are the only real option for a space craft. While we are experimenting with Lasers etc. they really are prototypes of TL8 weapons and may not realistically be used on a small spacecraft. Regarding everything else that is TL8. I would sugges...

Re: Quark Reactors

You mean like a MicroFusion reactor? It could be contained within the tonnage of the Quark Plant. Sort of like a high-tech Breeder Reactor. Standard fusion produces Quarks - you catch those with your gravity field and compress them into a Quark Fusion configuration. Similar to how many of our curren...

Re: Quark Reactors

I would suspect that fine gravity control (TL12+) might be able to overcome some of the losses. Using a gravity field to compress the quarks will increase the percentage that fuse. If meson particle decay can be calculated with enough accuracy to be used as a weapon, quark decay may be similarly cal...

Re: Do you allow psionics?

The issue I have with everyone having psionics (except those pesky Hivers) is that if everyone has it, why doesn't everyone use it? Psionic Suppression aside, if everyone is psionic, why are WE psionic? If some event created psionics (I'm looking at you Vorlons of B5), there is no mention of it. Ins...

Re: How close are orbital starports?

Another option would be to use natural LaGrange points if the world has a moon. The L4 and L5 points (60-degrees ahead and behind a moon's orbit) are naturally stable and would not require thrusters or a drive to keep them in place.

I suspect that there is the LAW - which this may be and all signatories to the Imperial Charter agree to. But ther e is also the REALITY, which is that the current Imperium doesn't care very much unless the media gets ahold of it or things get REALLY bad.

The AHL was one of my favorite ships. I LOVE that they gave us the full deck plans.

I ran a BattleStar Galactica inspired game using these plans for quite a while (didn't we all back in the day...)
