Re: Behind the Claw

The files are certainly big enough. Giving my ipad pro a workout. I mostly read on my phone these days, and I’ve noticed that the builtin iBooks app gets worse with each iOS update... books that o could read without trouble before are much slower to load now. Same device, same file, just new versio...

Re: MgT2 skill-level philosophy ???

Take a look at p.56 in the core book, especially the part about task checks. The referee should only call for checks when: ● The Travellers are in danger. ● The task is especially difficult or hazardous. ● The Travellers are under the pressure of time. ● Success or failure is especially important or...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

They could use the abstract supply unit system from the naval campaign handbook, or a variant thereof. Very simple and easy to use, basically a ship requires X number of supply units per day, depending on the ship’s tonnage. This includes food, spares, exchange parts and so on. A ship can be assumed...

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

Thanks for the clarification, Martin! Are regular m-drives completely useless in empty hexes, or merely operating at vastly reduced efficiency? In a regular game it most likely won’t matter, even for the various multi-jumping ship designs (there are a couple of 2x jump-3 capable scout ships for exam...

Sounds familiar... I wanna say Mercenary, but I couldn’t find it in the 2nd edition book... I’ll see if I can find the first book later tonight, could be there!

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

Let’s see... The Rift Hauler transport from the Deepnight Legacy adventure found here and the Deepnight Scout from update #2 ( here ) are both equipped with “Deep Space Manoeuvring System”. We did discuss the DSM system a little somewhere, let’s see if I can dig out the relevant bits... ah yes, here...

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

While I haven’t seen anything about m-drive limitations in any of the Mongoose books I own, the ongoing Deepnight Revelation Kickstarter suggests that there is indeed some form of limit. Right now it’s only been hinted at through previews, but the fact that some ships have special deep-space maneuve...

Basically, we are kinda hoping you will all think we have knocked the ball out of the park on this one :)
What's the price? :)
Doesn’t matter, we’ll buy it - especially after that sales pitch :) (I know I will...)

Seriously, it sounds pretty friggin amazing!

Re: Behind the Claw

Great, thanks!

Is it one of many ships in the book, or one of few?

Rather, approx how many ships are there in Behind the Claw, and are there more capital ships or mostly smaller adventure ships, or a bit of both? :)

Matt,

Delays are always preferable to get a better quality product than rushing it out and having problems.
Fully agree. Take your time, release a complete and great product rather than rushing just to get it out faster.

Just curious: that 300,000 dt dreadnought, which faction is it for?

Re: Deepnight Revelation

I’m thinking that a combination of repair drones, workshops, manufacturing plant and of course a well-trained crew should get them through at least a few years of maintenance - along with a huge supply of spare parts or possibly a mineral refinery.... But 10+ years is a long time without full servic...

Hang on... they’ve lost every landing craft AND crashed every ATV? Damnit, this is why travellers can’t have nice things!

What, so it isn’t just propaganda from the starports and service companies, plus a requirement from the bank issuing the loan on the ship? :)

Re: [GK Games] Lance-class Gunboat is now available!

Yeah I’m inclined to agree - especially for longer duration deployments, or for periods when the gunboats aren’t likely to need to deploy from the mothership urgently, such as while in zimm-space. Crazy idea, but how about something along the lines of rotating the crew stations. An engineer is an en...
