Re: Great Rift Adventure 4, 5, 6, ...

No third party products that I’m aware of...

There is, however, this:

From the JTAS Kickstarter - which is by the way looking like it’s gonna be awesome so come aboard everyone :)

Re: Core 2 & High Guard 2 rules check - EW, mssiles, armor

Started coding a combat resolver for computer. Realised while writing up the formulas, a 6d particle bay does 6d and a missile bay will do probably 5d x 24 missiles. Cover everything in missile launchers is good, right? Until you run out of ammo - or the opponent is prepared for missile swarms and ...

Re: Ship Help

The short version: You’ll lose a lot of cargo space. Both Jump and M-drives will become larger, and it’s possible that you’ll need a bigger power plant too. In order to actually be able to utilize jump-3 you’ll also need fuel for the additional parsec. I’ll try to give a more detailed answer, with n...

Re: Xenobiologist

By the way, is there anything similar to D&D monstrous manual or Alternity Alien Compendium published for Traveller? Something with strange aliens that you could throw in on players. The random generator is great but I would love to see what others have come up with. I'm running the New Traveller b...

Re: Element Cruisers Shipping

this might actually cause a lot of problems for your typical "murder hobo" PCs. That’s true of traveller in general. A occasional bug hunt is useful to keep that itch scratched, but your typical D&D game session doesn’t fit well in traveller. Actually, I think it could be fun, interesting - and hor...

n MT that requires overloading, in Gurps and T5 it apparently does not. MgT says nothing about this. How do Gurps and T5 handle thrust vectoring? CONTRAGRAVITY SYSTEMS (GURPS Starships, p40) (TL8) Contragravity systems cancel out all natural gravitational forces acting on an object up to their rate...

Re: Imperial Navy Dress Uniforms?

Maroon, that's not a bad idea… How about my option B, with maroon-coloured coat? To clarify, it would look a bit like this https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/208/images/162-4-1390622973.png It's funny, that uniform is usually blue, but apparantly someone has made a red version.... Didn't know...

Imperial Navy Dress Uniforms?

Greetings, Does anyone have a good idea about what dress unifom should look like in the Imperial navy? There are several pictures of a uniform type in both Pirates of Drinax (Book 1, the game of sun and shadow, pp.147-149, 154) and especially in the Element Cruiser box (the best one probably being o...

Re: Double turret with a pulse laser and a sandcaster

Each round has several phases, in this we're dealing with the attack phase and reaction phase. Point Defense requires the weapon ( Not Turret) not be used for anything but the Point Defense action. ( Reaction Phase) Disperse Sand is in the reaction phase for either laser defense or boarding action....

Re: Double turret with a pulse laser and a sandcaster

The way I remember it - been a while since I read that chapter - only one type of weapon per turret may attack per round, so you can’t fire Both the laser and the sandcasters, but you can make an attack with one weapon and use the other to make a defence reaction. You may not use the same weapon wit...

Re: Real World - why people + computers make best combination

My first, spontaneous thought is that no, pilot-1 is not enough to handle a sudden emergency. Pilot-1 is enough to handle regular flying, and helps the pilot pass average (8+) skill rolls, but the necessary steps to avoid disaster might be a 10+ roll or more, meaning the pilot would fail (on average...

Re: High Guard: fighting hull-to-hull

I found something regarding ramming in Pirates of Drinax: The Traveller must make a Pilot check (DEX) to dodge the Patrol Corvette; failing means a collision that inflicts 5D damage on both ships. Sure, it sounds more like an accidental collision than deliberate ramming, and it doesn’t mention if ar...

Re: A lot of worlds over 1g gravity. How do 1G thrust ships take off?

Alright, here goes... First off, I believe that these rules are intentionally vague, to leave some wiggle-room for each group and how they want things to function. I only use Mongoose Traveller, so reading this discussion with its references to other editions has been illuminating. I was unable to f...

Oh, I think we can safely assume they have stopped reading this long ago... Haha well some of us are still reading! When threads evolve into... well something way beyond what’s generally necessary for day-to-day gaming, I tend to find them both entertaining and a great source for information, so pl...

Amazing work! Great to see a smaller ship next to the AHL, gives a good sense of scale! I can understand how the AHL became a favourite for many, the detailed deck plans were a great tool, and the ship itself came with a bit of everything, opening up for a wide variety of games. To me and other newe...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

Another thing regarding missiles (p.160-161): The dogfight missile gets DM+4 to hit, including when used with point defence reaction. This suggests that, on average, a single dogfight missile takes out several incoming missiles. The larger interceptor missile has DM+2 to hit, not stated outright to ...
