Re: WW1

Quite, but if we used 1DD+3 to model 1½DD (≈15D) it would be fair to give it AP 15 from AP ammunition? It could be seen as fair, in a way. On the other hand an autopistol and an assault rifle get the same benefits from AP as well, despite the pistol having -3 to its damage dice. The issue (if there...

Re: [GK Games] Lance-class Gunboat is now available!

So, this is starting to get a bit spooky... this week, I have on two separate occasions thought about getting tech products. Within the day, I’ve gotten emails from online stores with those very products heavily discounted. Yesterday, we looked at and talked about a photo a customer had sent us rega...

Re: WW1

Regarding 1 1/2 DD, how about 1DD+3 or something like that? That would be better, but we must also define how it interacts with AP ammunition; AP 10, AP15 ? For slower RoF, you could give them a longer reload-time? Sure, but note that even old manually muzzle-loaded guns have no RoF, so can fire ev...

Re: Pirate Booty Quick Mechanics

Take a look at the Sindal subsector map on p.163 of Pirates of Drinax book 2, there’s a fuel dump in hex 0406. Since it doesn’t show up on the big sector map, it’s probably top secret :)

Re: Pirate Booty Quick Mechanics

Have you looked at the encounter and boarding action rules in the main rulebook? Pages 145 and 163. Or do you want something even more automated?

Pirates of Drinax has loads of info on the Aslan (mostly based on the first edition book Alien Manual 1: Aslan, but updated for 2nd edition)

Just give it a few years and I’m sure the ‘enhanced digital editions’ of the books are gonna feature interactive deck plans that can be freely rotated and zoomed :)

Re: Open Spacecraft Flown With Vacc Suit?

Go for it, sounds like fun! As for life support duration, it could be meant for short trips (using vacc suit supply only) or it could have an area below-decks that’s pressurized. Or do it like the scout grav bike in JTAS: it’s equipped with life support despite being an open-topped vehicle, explaine...

Re: Hazards of frontier refuelling

Regarding the difficulty of fuel skimming, the “skills and tasks” chapter of the Core Rulebook has a paragraph called “task checks”, that suggests that not every action needs a skill check. The referee should only call for checks when: ● The Travellers are in danger. ● The task is especially difficu...

Re: Plying the Bowman Arm, and more

Just saw the KS update. I’ve longed and wished and hoped for more on the Entity since it was first revealed in the Great Rift adventure - handled correctly I’d say it has the potential to end up way up there with iconic entities like Halo’s Gravemind, the Lich King of Warcraft or the Zerg/Tyranids. ...

Re: Plying the Bowman Arm, and more

Well, around here it’s common to begin a conversation with a variation of “hello, how are you?” Or “hi, how’s it going?” But of course no one expects an honest answer, though it’s fun to toss in something about what’s currently troubling you, just to see people’s reaction when they expect “good, and...

And I agree with others, sounds like a great time to be a Traveller fan :) and finally, out of curiosity... a Sword Worlds merchant crui...

Very neat idea. So, is the flexible plastic docking tube (core book p.143) sturdy enough to replicate this in Traveller?

Sword Worlds? Heh, With all the Rifts and Claws and Elements I’ve kinda forgotten about them, glad to hear they’re on their way!

I seem to recall they were gonna get quite a rework, so will we recognize anything from the prior book?

Epic Great Rift related new project sounds very exciting... :)
