Re: What's their realistic best option?

Great ideas But how can I justify in my unique finale a 3-way alliance of Drinax, Hierate Aslan and Glorious Empire Aslan to those that know nothing of the campaign in real-life and how would Drinax and those 2 Aslan Empires justify it to the common folk, which they would likely at least try to bec...

Re: What's their realistic best option?

Realistically? Run.

I’d head for the Great Rift and try to start a new life somewhere out there, possibly in the Islands cluster if able to reach it.

Re: Deck Plans

Well, for anyone using miniatures or roll d20 or other tools, I agree that’s easier with 2D plans, and they are easy to read, and see which hull access connects to where, exactly how many squares an area occupies and such, but I gotta say I’ve grown quite fond of the iso plans! They’re pretty to loo...

Re: Basic stat ideas

After reading the (very interesting, thanks for sharing!) old discussion on the Wyvern class, I had an idea: How about simply using the Corsair as a template? Seems to me it’d fit quite nicely, and in one of the adventures in Pirates of Drinax (on p.143) there’s an example ship named Lionsbane. It’s...

Re: Non-lethal weapons

Mongoose’s judge Dredd rpg had a couple of non-lethal weapons. Stumm has for instance, requires the target(s) to roll END 11+ Or be incapacitated for d6 minutes. I’ll see if I can dig up a couple more later.

Re: The Vehicle Handbook is Here!

60 spaces, 90 armour is 0,004 x 90 x 60. I see I was a bit unclear in my previous post. You never add the facings together, not when deciding max armor, not when calculating spaces consumed. The value in one facing is the relevant number. It’s like with spaceships. The amount of armour you want, 90 ...

Re: The Vehicle Handbook is Here!

The way I understand it is that the maximum armour is per facing, not total. So your example would (if I’m right) have up to 120 armour per facing for a total of 360 points of armour. These points could then be reallocated as desired, as per p.35

Re: Iconic adventure ship remakes

That's the way I understand it too, Reynard. I chose my words poorly when likening it to a cutter module, I meant that just like with cutter modules the mission pod is configured for one role, but it can be changed easier than, say, rebuilding the stateroom area to make room for more fuel. Swapping ...

Re: Iconic adventure ship remakes

Yeah, the way I understand it is that you choose one interior for the Harrier pod, and if you want another you'd return to base and rebuild it, not carry the others with you. Kinda like with cutter modules actually. You choose one, but it's easy to swap.

Re: Amuar 2D Deckplan

AFAIK the Amuar’s a regular Leviathan. The 2D plans for them are available in the High Guard pack, available here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/high-guard-ebook.html Do note, however, that some parts of the deck descriptions for the Amuar sound like they’re referencing the classic version of th...

Re: Flexible Far Traders?

Only one problem... looks at High Guard, p.36: Fuel cannot be pumped directly from these tanks to the jump drive, and so a ship must complete a jump before it can use fuel stored in collapsible tanks. There is, however, an item in the Deep space explorer’s handbook (from the Great Rift box set) that...

Haha, not for four days straight, no! But what it means in practice is that you can use the air/raft for 96 hours before you need to replace filters and all that :)

Re: Air/Raft spaces

Since we seem to have a free space available, all you gotta do is add 160,000 credits to the cost and voila! Your air/raft is now vacuum protected and can maintain life support for four days! Remember that there’s no airlock, so once you open the door you de-pressurize the interior! (Adding an airlo...

Re: Air/Raft spaces

That’s weird, I could have sworn that the air/raft has satellite uplink, but apparently it doesn’t... The final slot could be forgotten, left as upgradeable space, or used to give the passengers slightly more room... The good news is that an empty slot means it’s possible to build a vacuum/proof ver...
