Wow, jumping in this thread a bit late but still disappointed. I'm glad I have enough fleets and the rules to keep B5:ACTA active at least in my home. I'm really not sold on ACTA as a system however for generic space games. There's a lot of competition in that space already with games that are a bit...

Yes, to be fair I think as long as all your ships look uniform it doesn't matter so much. I also use a darker sea colour for RN / KM to represent the North Atlantic. for IJN/US I'd use a lighter sea blue. I should add it also depends what scale you are painting as size effects perceived colour somew...

For basic ships and colourings I'd use a grey with a blue tinge to it, like Blue Grey Pale, and Deck Tan for the Deck.

Bring it in to the modern skirmish era.

Have a look at INFINITY. It has a really good AP system that's a bit more flexible, and the units are always on overwatch which makes for more firing opportunities. Love the idea of making the judges more involved in the game.. so "Megacity One" not "Gangs of...". Consider working out a deal with Wo...

Just avoid the Green dotted underlined links.

It's a technique that's commonly used for advertising based on embedded text.

Burger I think you're forgetting that one of the possible field allowances is (U) "Unlimited". Clearly FAs aren't in the spirit of ACTA, but I would say gaming the system by creating an unrealistic fleet of say 20 dag'kars only is also not in the spirit of the game. I know a points system is never g...

Luckily for me I own all the CTA minis in these parts and no-cheese allowed. It does seem like it's an issue in general however and just another point in the anti-FP argument.

In addition to a Point system, CTA should also go to a Field Allowance system like Warmachine has to avoid the cheese.

I made asteroids out of Tinfoil.. crunch it up into the sizes / shapes you like, prime it black, brush/drybrush on some colour and it's good to go.

I use Sabol Army Transports for just about everything. Most ships fit into the 1.5" foam trays. A few (Avioki, and bigger) require larger.

Running every single ship against every other single ship at the same PL .. that's what computer programs are for. Plus that wouldn't do anything since at the ship.vs.ship level you wouldn't want the game completely balanced. What would be the point of that? If you're not trying to be "gamey" , the ...

Probably a good idea since at this point it's largely an art book :)

Yeah they only carry the Judge Klegg. I did end up getting 2 from Arcane though and that should probably be good enough, another player in my group has some. My gang is made solely of Foundry Street Violence minis.

My group has recently gotten in to playing GoMC1 (see my post trying to find some Kleggs in the forum) .. Luckily the base game + expansion has enough room in it for a lot of play.

What S&P has Block Wars ? I must have only been interested in aCTA when that came out?

But, yes others have thought about this before. A few mix in FA scale ships into ACTA, most common I've seen is to use FA scale Vorchans. Another popular manifestation of the scale issue is the "how many fighters can surround a ship" debate. Of course FA scale is also not to scale with itself. Reall...
