I didn't mean to be condescending. I just don't think WarMachine is a good game. The mechanics are sluggish, there is little balance in the game, armies can be far bigger than most 40k armies, it's expensive, the figures are getting pretty ugly, and the game revolves around combos that do little tha...

I'm afraid Mongoose has put itself in a situation where it is relying on the actions of other parties a bit too much. This has caused those other parties to screw Mongoose and in turn have Mongoose upset the fan base. It's a real shame, too, because it's obvious that these guys love what they do and...

I feel that the issue of reactions, whether multiple or one, comes down to the heart of Starship Troopers. Multiple reactions, I feel, best represent the battle of MI against Arachnids. It makes the game incredibly fluid and I love the feeling of bugs constantly moving forward to the MI's constant b...

My sweetheart of a girlfriend ordered these for me for our upcoming anniversary. She's a sweetheart. I'll still like getting them from her, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't have been as excited about them coming out and she wouldn't have found out and then got them for me if they're just Cap Troop...

I know at least 10 people that are waiting for the prepaints. If they're good they'll buy them. If not they won't. They're not coming on the boards because they're not hardcore miniature gamers. They liked the games of BF:Evo we've played but they'd prefer the sci fi setting. They have no interest i...

Let me get this straight, people are complaining that the free rules online and included in unit packs are basically too good because a $25 rulebook, which is really stinking cheap for a miniature rulebook, doesn't add enough odds and ends to the free starter rules. Some people aren't ever going to ...

Did you really play BF:Evo, katadder? I don't mean to sound like a fanboy but I don't think we're playing the same game. I have a PLA force and an EFTF force and the British infantry are much better than the Chinese infantry even if they're outnumbered. We also play with a lot of terrain, though. I'...

Tell me about it, rvrratt. I end up painting way more than I play. I've painted 2000 points of Bugs, 2000 points of Pathfinders, about 1000 points of Skinnies, two 40k armies, one Warhammer Fantasy army, two WarMachine armies, and several DBA armies this summer. You know what game I've played the mo...

The forums may be a bit negative but I know a lot of my friends and I are going through a big SST phase right now. We play a million games, though, and don't mind if a game is out of print or unsupported. Not that SST is, though. I'm still very much of a mind that the SST game we have right now is a...

The Cap Troops are a bit fiddly but are pretty nice figures. The Pathfinders are most excellent. I like the LAMI. You don't need to convert a missle guy since you can buy the LAMI specials pack. I also really love the ExoSuits. I am pretty eager to get the full rules for those since there's only a C...

I play 40k, WFB, WAB, DBA, WM and Hordes (although I might sell of all of that stuff since the models are getting worse and power creep is starting to happen combined with the playerbase in my area never painting and being slackers), Flames of War, SST, BF:Evo, VaS, and Mighty Armies. I play a lot o...

My folks live down in Lexington now and I've visited a few times. I might be able to find another excuse to go visit again sooner than I otherwise would have :D How is the gaming scene in the Lexington area overall? I feel like I'm spoiled up here in Northern Virginia but whenever I read any message...

That makes sense, Matthew. They just released ACtA 2 and odds are those fellows are in a more support method right now and aren't doing much in terms of development or the like for the game as of right now. Getting them into another project for a while isn't a bad idea. I think adding a sentence to ...

From watching lots of war movies, which is honestly where most of my wargame logic comes from, it also makes a bit of sense to me that snipers should also add some more to suppression. Maybe using TOS's recommendation and also having a snipers suppression die carry over for the entire turn so that i...

I'm a fan of having more warriors for your Arachnid lists. I'd bump it up to at least two units of 15 Warriors. I'm also not sure how much use the Javelin Launchers are going to get. They're a bit overkill. Good lists, though, and they'll be a lot of fun! Mostly I'd recommend getting more warrior bu...
