Well, Xoth Publishing released XP2: Song of the Beast-Gods pretty recently.
Cool, I'll have to get that for sure.

Just as a sneak piece of info for fans who frequent this forum, we have just signed up the first new book for Wayfarer, a conversion of the Spider God's Bride Huge Score!! I was wondering where the system would go now that so much has changed. I never dared hope that this would happen. I bought the...

Ducks

While reading the the upcoming books thread I had a few musing about the RQ race of ducks. I originally posted this there and then realized it was pulling the thread a little off topic. Ducks have always been a bit of a curse to runequest in my circles due primarily to the artwork on the front cover...

The musket had an effective range of 30 yards. Beyond that, it was pretty much useless. It's accuracy was poor at best, and the velocity of the bullet leaving the barrel was slow compared to the rifle. The rifle revolutionized the battlefield. It had an effective range of 200 yards, and the rifled ...

The other is that the lack of total HP makes combat take longer in that you often have to beat the crap out of an emeny to drop them, including bludgeining them when down until they pass out or die (the baby seal effect). This was nagging at me too, everyone seemed like a zombie. Play became kind o...

Wow! Those look really spanky! I am not much into Hawkmoon(one of the few RQ lines I have not bought up), but those covers seem to promise an awful lot. I have always been a sorry sucker for games and books with good artwork. I had never heard of Slaine before but that book was just crying to be bou...

I used the table-less combat from the wiki as well and it had a really neat feel. A couple of the combats had pretty epic movie-like results. (Archery seemed to be horribly deadly and a show stopper though). I also added overall hit points as characters and villains with low damage modifiers seemed ...

I loved them. All three books are great. Whats more they contain two of the very few RQ adventures mongoose has put out. Both adventures are great reads and very Lieber-like. I wish there would be more black magic spells, but I guess I can use any sorcery spells included in the basic books( no doubt...

Is the second file just a .doc version of the original? Woops. No, I just did not see Magistus' post that he had already got the file up. We must have been working on it at the same time. I do appreciate the help either way. I have never posted on a wiki before so was a little ham-fisted. Ed...

Thank you for the offer magistus. I think I may have got it. If I am correct it should be here:

I can't figure out how to change the comment section which I somehow goofed up originally but I think the file itself is good to go.

After rolling a couple of fumbles on my lore (wiki) skill  I have the file there. It is not linked to any chapters though as I am not sure how to accomplish that. If anyone who has a Mastery level skill in lore(wiki)can help I would appreciate it.

I would love to see them on the wiki. I was not sure of the process or proper protocall. They may be a little rough as to properly playtest them would require rolling up a hundred characters or so. They are meant to be used with heavy DM influence and adjustment. Anyway I will attempt to get them in...

Traveller type previous experience

I have been messing with traveller-like previous experience charts for runequest. I designed them to be used place of the advanced characters section on pp. 103 and 104 of the basic runequest book. The charts could also be used in place of the 100 free experience points each character gains. They ar...

I have been using the non-tabular combat system as well and it has been working fantastic. :D It has added a really neat dimension to combat. It is a pity this did not get adopted as a final rule set. I have been also been fiddling with adding some elements of the Pete Nash stuff, like the bonus opt...

Here is a question for all you veterans. You speak of these rpg boxed sets. I assume these were packed with stuff. How come I do not see these nowasays? And what were they like? Now I am not sure but I believe they were originally released that way because most wargames (Avalon Hill and others), th...

I started off with Tunnels and Trolls in 77 or 78. It was ordered out of an add my brother found in a military modeling magazine. By 79 I was introduced to D+D. Disgruntled with the d+d system in the summer of 81 I heard incredible stories of this new game: Runequest. I still remember while sitting ...

They begin on pp.41: Kidnapping in Al-Halisa and Lord of the Golden Eagle on pp. 57.

Al-Halisa is a real gem and could easily be adapted for any setting. I have not read the Lord of the Golden Eagle yet, but I am really looking forward to it. :D

I had all sorts of problem downloading Stupor Mundi from Lulu. I tried to buy the PDF numerous times this summer and the computer would just freeze up. I never did figure it out and I have bought other PDF's without any problems. I do not know if anyone else had this experience, but thought you migh...
