Re: So, are we getting a State of Mongoose Annual statement soon?

Might be finishing it over the weekend - the last component slotted into place yesterday,so I just need to sit down and complete it. That would be the first weekend in February, right? Just checking. At least you didn't say you would be finishing it over the weekend. Just once, I wish you would sur...

All going well, next week (a lot of stuff to get through between now and then though).
If my calendar is correct, and I'm pretty sure it is, tomorrow is the last day in January. Just a friendly reminder.

Re: Victory at Sea Update

Hmmm ... January is half over and still no word about the imminent release of VaS2. I think we're back to "ish"territory.

Re: Victory at Sea Update

According to the Mongoose archives dated Jan 4 2012, Victory at Sea 2.0 was Mongoose's miniatures game for 2012. Oddly enough, nothing was mentioned about 2012 merely being the beginning of a development process that was going to take to date more time than the Allies took to defeat the Axis and wit...

Take your time. If it takes another 6-12 months to finish it so be it.
Good thought. Just because VaS 2 was "right around the corner" over six years ago, and has been announced as being ready for publication at least once a year since 2012, why should we be pushy?

Re: VAS 2

After two months of reading first the Basic Rules thread and then the Open Playtest thread, I stand by my message from May 3, 2018. Contrary to your statement at that time, the books are nowhere near completion except for the scenarios. If they were, you would be getting questions about one rule or ...

Re: Trying to Identify a Ship

Arethusa-class? The layout of the three dual main battery turrets and the four single AA guns is right, although the stern looks a bit short, but that's as far as my antique eyes get me.

Re: VAS 2

A quick read-through of the posts should make it clear that the rules are no more complete than the line of miniatures. Umm... We haven't posted the full rulebooks yet (of which there will be three in the set, all three almost complete - need to work on Coastal Invasions, the odd background piece, ...

Re: VAS 2

I suggest that anyone who still harbors the hope that VaS2 will be published within our lifetimes should definitely drop in on the Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules thread as Matt suggested above. A quick read-through of the posts should make it clear that the rules are no more complete than ...

Re: VAS 2

I'm sorry, but having re-read the article in State of the Mongoose, I am not convinced. I notice that Victory at Sea: Ironclads will now be coming out after VAS 2, even though it was allegedly finished and only waiting for the layout queue (how may years ago was that?). The miniatures snipe hunt see...

Re: VAS 2

Currently in development, it is a new edition of VaS! The above is the first official company comment (second message overall) on this thread; it will be one year old on Saturday of next week. Prior threads on the same subject that go back at least to 2012 were filled with what can at best be calle...

Re: VAS 2

Okay, Matt, what's it going to be? In your last reply to one of my messages you indicated that the search for miniatures fell through but you're going to keep going with it, but in your reply to AdmiralGrafSpee you're talking about working something out to make a PDF version of the rules available i...

Re: VAS 2

* We have been looking at something like £10 for a large Battleship. Of course that will be adjusted by inflation, so by the time they come out, that will be closer to £1000. I wouldn't worry too much about that, since the rulebook will still be waiting for a spot in the layout queue, rig...

Re: VAS 2

Just to recap, the arrangement we had set up for VAS2 fell through - we are still looking though! Just to recap, making the publication of the rulebook contingent upon the availability of a non-existent (and rather pointless) proprietary line of miniatures is either a first-class merchandising boon...

Re: VAS 2

And it's now the 1st of October in the year during which VaS2 was due to be released "end of March-ish". In order for this to rank as anything close to the truth, March would need to be minimum of 214 days long, assuming the rules were to be released today. Which, of course, they won't be.

Re: VAS 2

Well it's the 23rd of September and, if David Reade's prophecy turns out to be accurate, the world is going to end without WAS2 seeing the light of day. What a surprise.
