Online resources for AoD
I have VAS and played it many times enjoying it immensely at our club. Now a guy there has bought AoD and tasked me to print out the fast play sheets and ship data sheets. Unfortunately unlike VAS there seems to be no online resources for this game even though it has been out since feb. Also I canno...

yes I know there are better rulesets for this but unfortunately the only people at my club that are shipheads are myself and my son, the others just want ta fast play rules set for a bit of fun. I am working on getting them to play with GQ and sea wars fleet action but got to get them to walk before...

MTB Boats in 1/2400
I know that GHQ do a couple and also Panzerschiffe do a few but does anyone know of any other companies that sell the little babies. More specifically in the UK. I can get the GHQ models no problem but the Panzerschiffe ones are more difficult. I am looking to do Operation Cerberus/Thunderbolt. Also...

That makes sense but they should have stated it in the rules if it was the case. I can see where the confusion is coming from because of it. We have had a word at our club and decided that we will carry on using the old rule plus the new rule for ASW. After all whats the point of including a stat fo...

Ok looked again and it looks pretty straightforward and also clear as mud, let me explain. Page 16 at the bottom states that you may use your ship Reccy planes as ASW. At the top of page 17 you have a small table, this gives a ships reccy plane 1AD strength with 3DD. That looks pretty straightforwar...

It reads to me as if you now no longer use reccy planes launched from ships, everything else is as the original rules. But although this is the way the rules look to be read then why do these ships still have an aircraft trait. If you don't use spotting rules anymore are they now classed as CAP plan...

the PL thing is mainly for tournament play though isn't it. I personally don't play in tourneys, too much beardiness for me to actually enjoy it, but as I said a little earlier playing with the revamped PL listings for some of the capitlal ship dowgraded form war to battle make the respective fleets...

If you are into sailing ship era you really must buy Rod Langtons ships they are the best on the market by a country mile. Postage costs and delivery times are superb. I have purchased stuff and received them the next day, the longest I have waited is 2 days for receipt of goods. link below if you a...

If you have the new OOB book try the same scenario now. I bet you it will be a different outcome Planes are revamped and more effective. Take the swordfish for example 3ad now instead of the measley 1 you got originally. They can also carry bombs now too, you get ADx6 and if you take Albacores they ...

With VAS I think you are underestimating the use of Radar too. also don't forget now that OOB is out some of the ships have been reclassified. So for instance I would happily take 2 Nelson classes again 1 yamato anyday. Armour class upgraded to 6 and radar and downgraded to war . Now tell me who wou...

I paint my ships based on historical accuracy for the ship name. Obviously some ships were painted in various schemes throughout their service life and if more than one scheme is available I choose the one I think is most attractive or saw most active service use. for decks I use various shades of b...

I agree with gazman here. Overkill is a polite way of saying it. 1 torpedo hit would almost kill a transport anyway so to double the damage is nasty. But bear in mind the new rule for torpedo reloads. Now you don't have unlimited reloads. 2 shots total for Japanese destroyers with reload capability ...

yeah I noticed the fading on the ships too but my main gripe was the warped covers and yes I checked and found that mine too was not aligned properly but only noticed it after you had mentioned it gazman. Still a happy bunny though as having made an extensive check of my model ships I can't find any...

Just my quick take. As usual looks like they got foreigners to proof read. Some really basic spelling and grammar errors. Not spotted many stat errors but there is one glaring one is the USS Alaska. Not a big problem as the stats are fine but it lists its main armamment as 5.9's, should they not be ...
