Well we tried the new torpedo belt rule today and I can only hope that the intent is to drop the DD re-roll. I do prefer the original rule, this one seems too "clunky".

I like the waterline effect in your second photo. I toyed with it but quickly dismissed it, mostly due to the sculpted water on my bases. As regards to the Navwar figures, I mostly use GHQ but have 7 C-in-C (Nagato, Haruna, and 5 destroyers- you can see them in a previous post). I do love painting t...

Gwen it looks like you have done a nice job. I prefer the darker decking as it seems to have more depth but it may just be the pictures themselves. Perhaps you can lighten the gray a little. Anyway, keep on painting and post more of your pics.

I figured stats as: damage= displacement /1,000; speed= knots/5; crew= complement/25. Looked through Janes and a bunch of other books/websites and averaged any variances. Go to the resources "sticky" post at the top of the list and you will find alot of information. I particularly like navweaps and ...

Yes Thunder, that is correct; Fubuki gets only one shot to either port or starboard while Nagara gets one shot to port and one shot to starboard.

OK, thanks for replies so far. After considering these replies and some more research, I have new thoughts on Kamikaze attacks: Mitsubishi A6-M Zero Type: Kamikaze Dodge: 3+ Speed: 26 in. David, that was my thought on penetration as well, though nothing so in-depth as "something for work". I just figured the aircraft would break up against a harder target such as a BB or CA but go right through a thinner target. My co-hort, on the other hand wanted them to have SAP (and he is running...

Yes, we have messed around with DM's ideas. For a large convention scenario however, I want to try something with an already established rule and not add any bookkeeping. Thanks for the comment, though.

Scenario specific rules

Hey guys, help me out. As mentioned in an earlier post, I will be co-hosting a scenario based on the 25 Oct 1944 Battle off Samar Island, to which I have written a couple of scenario specific rules. One for reloading aircraft (as a special action) and another for an earlier arrival of Kamikaze attac...

Shokaku pics

Here is my Shokaku. The deck markings are not quite historical because I could not get the "multi-pointed arrow" to look right. http://lh6.google.com/resQscooter/RsW-ULVAZgI/AAAAAAAAACY/2kt6AG4j4sc/s800/100_1853.JPG http://lh4.google.com/resQscooter/RsW_ArVAZiI/AAAAAAAAADA/xRvS5W_EXFA/s800/Shokaku%2...

Burger, awesome resource. Do you fix uncorrected rulebook problems? Nagara only carried 5.5" guns. Rulebook does not have the "weak" trait listed for her, nor does your ship viewer though they probably should.

Very nicely done, Nemo! Also, I agree with your closing statements. Tearing aroung on the ocean at flank speed probably should earn a bit more of a modifier. Any math wizards out there? I was thimking of the difference in net effect for "eveasive" (reroll hits) vs "flank speed"(-1 to hit).

Keith, thanks for the write up. Very interesting and some good points made. However, I take umbrance  with the Nagato/Kongo disparity. I had such a battle the other day where I did choose Nagato over Kongo. Nagato was constantly shadowed by RN submarines and I felt that had I taken Kongo she wo...

Try the game using more ships. I think you will find it balances out much better... Also, you may be correct in that the Nagato is a very good unit

I wasn't confused about putting out fires... now, I am.

From the FAQ-> "if the roll exceeds seven"; to me the only way to "exceed" seven is to score eight, which is different from the rulebook->"seven or more". Are fires now more difficult to extiguish, or is this wording wrong?
