Well, I'm not sure I follow your question then ("Does it work in game?").

I took it as a semi-rhetorical "Does realistic conservation of momentum really matter?", which given your response to my answer, doesn't seem to have been your intent.

The scale (as presented in the new rules) is slightly broken (the thrust points to change range are slightly out) but they're near enough for roleplaying ;-) If you wish to apply any degree of real world physics, the system in the main rulebook is utterly broken, as it fails to conserve any momentu...

Fp is moved 3 in direction a .. Note that this produces 36km/turn accumulated vector change per G, as it should, since ∆V=AT^2, while distance covered is change of distance is ∆D=0.5AT^2.... I was going to query this, since the speed in hexes per turn gained for a given amount of (constant or avera...

I would suggest that, as long as there are TL6, 7, 8, 9, 10 worlds out there that will import as much TL15 gear as they can afford, the price of that TL15 stuff will remain artificially inflated. I can't produce a coherent, economically sound argument to that effect, but it goes a long way to explai...

I was not going to say anything, but yes it is just a myth. The funny thing is how many folks will fight with you because they want to believe it. I think it is part of human nature to want to be something more. :D Daniel I can understand people reluctant to change their opinion on this one though ...

Humans use only about 10% of their brain power. Not that long ago, I was mildly embarassed to discover that: 1. That particular belief was debunked a long time ago. 2. It was never taken all that seriously by the scientific/medical community in the first place. Aparently the origins of the 10% myth...

Exactly. Why not wear a comfortable, protective vac suit as armour? I dare say many do, because it makes sense. Because of the one thing to is glossed over in practically every Traveller campaign..sanitation hookups. They tend to chafe after an hour. A fair point ... but, the same should pr...

Dunno, it just seems that protection vs flying lead/needles/plasma etc wouldn't be the main consideration. Protection is mostly against micrometeorites, suit puncture by sharp surfaces and, more importantly, the suit has to be strong enough to contain the pressure differences between its inside and...

My mind is a littel fuzzy right now (getting late and way past bed time), but I thought there was something in the rules that mentioned suppresive fire; or it may have been the play test rules. I will look around tomorrow for it and let you know what I find unless someone else knows. There was some...

I'm using a system suggested by someone else on this board who, unfortunately, I can't remember in order to give credit to. Final Armour Value = (Armour Value - Armour Piercing) with a minimum of 0. The Final Armour Value is deducted from each damage die individually, with a minimum result of 0 for ...

And I don't. In my house rules there's NO max skill level limit. Ditto. Int + Edu as a skill cap seems very artificial and arbitrary to me, although I understand why some people like the idea. It is wonderfully simple, and prevents characters from being "Too skilled" As I mentioned, I can understan...

Is the peak value different from the training target? Or is that +1 at half value permanent? Also, what's STT? Heh ... I just had one of my players ask what STT is. It's Skill Training Threshold (described immediately before the abbreviation is used, but not capitalised, which would make it much cl...

Uh? None of that is actually in the book unless it's been very cleverly hidden somewhere. Oops. So, here's where I mention I hadn't actually read the final character advancement rules, and assumed they were the same as the playtest version. The experience through training is still there, but...

I don't see any logic why anagathics should be so increadibly cheap during character generation but then cost so much later. I'm pretty sure that this was brought up during playtest. The basic premise is that the cost during character generation doesn't indicate how much you actually spent on anaga...
