Re: ACTA-SF

awesome, thanks matt! I had 1 more if you don't mind, on using tractor beams for drone defense. it says the ship can use the tractor beams to defend against drones as a last resort. does that mean you have to fire every weapon available first? on the same token, can you use all your tractor beams ag...

ACTA-SF

hey guys, my friend and I played our first game the other night, Federation v. Klingon. He had two Chicago and one Ortega. I had two D7 and a D6. The game went fairly well and stayed pretty close until a string of misses with a point blank phaser and torpedo volley cost him the game. nonetheless, a ...

Yeah, I was none too impressed when they removed some of my favorite races and the ability to hotseat play out of MoO3. I like some of the new races, sure, gives me more fleets to build for ACTA, but still. I found those files that katadder did, I'm hoping they help. I'll be working on my Wars of th...

Hmmm.... I know this is far fetched, but I would love to see a Master of Orion game that included all the races from all three games. That's easily more fleets than even B5 has. <threadhack> Speaking of B5 has anyone done more of the ships from the old AoG line into ACtA? If not, would it be legal t...

Thanks Matt for responding. However, that works as far as artillery fire, as it measures the lethal zone from the impact point. This is as per the Artillery rules in both WaW and Modern Combat. My concern was with weapons not fired as artillery, such as the S-8 rockets I mentioned. They are fired fr...

Battlefield Evo Lethal Zones

I posted this in the BFE forums but I wanted to see what the official wording is to see if we got it right or not: Original Message: Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been on here, but with the relase of World at War and Modern Combat, I've come back to reading here again. Okay. I understand how...

That's kind of what I was thinking. Just allocate all dice to each model in the lethal zone. It's the simplest solution I've found. It just doesn't coincide with the dice rules. 2xd6 is different than 2d6 according to the rules. Like with an smg that does 3xd6, each die is allocated to a different m...

lethal zones

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been on here, but with the relase of World at War and Modern Combat, I've come back to reading here again. Okay. I understand how lethal zones work with weapons that have a single damage die, i.e. a tank gun of 1xd10+4 does it's damage to the target and all othe...

Wave 4 stats

I saw in the SP48 tourney article that the EFTF lists had the Wave 4 Future Lynx in it. I was wondering if the stats for Wave 4 had been released somewhere and if so, where can I find them?

What!?! No MAC IIs in here? Though I suppose that would count as offboard artillery, eh? A long while back I had a link to a page that had the stats for everything Robotech from the first series to the Macross II and Macross Plus. I'll be darned if I can find it though. I used it with GURPS Vehicles...

Umm... sorry guys for being geekish, but I gotta second, third, and fourth this one. If Mongoose managed to get hold of that license and used a similar skill leveling system as the game, I would get that book so fast my wallet wouldn't know what hit it. It is an immersive world with massive possibil...

ACTA- Asteroids

In all the time playing the game since its inception, this never came up, but just recently it did. In the rules, it states that ships may not fire into or through any terrain unless stated otherwise in the rules. (I'm going from the basic rules as I don't recall seeing the rule anywhere in Armagedd...

Most of these were described in the older B5Wars books: Dilgar Bolters (are these gyrojet type weapons?) - These are the precursors to pulse weapons and thus fire along a similar principle, meaning they fire bolts of charged particles in a magnetic envelope. Minbari Neutron Lasers (what is a neutron...
