Re: State of Legend
Earlier in the thread it was mentioned that Mongoose seems to be focusing on mainly non-fantasy, focusing on sci-fi settings. Just look at how nice Traveller is! Why not run with it? Wouldn't it be nice if Legend was revived with d100 Traveller material?! Would that be possible, even? Why would Mon...

Re: State of Legend
I was looking at doing 'Portuguese conquestador' style games. Is the renaissance version worth looking at or shall I just wing it with the legend rules? I'm well up on the historical and arms for the period, just looking for extra 'flavour' really. Renaissance would be good, but Pirates of Legend h...

Re: Spells of Legend
Not so sure about Battle Cry and Bladesharp, Battle Cry affects the person and Bladesharp affects the weapon.
I'd make Battle Cry incompatible with Fanaticism and Berserker, but allow it to be used with Bladesharp.

Re: RPGs similar to Deus Vult?
I'm Italian, and when I was a boy I learned to read English through RPGs, so the idea of using games written in some foreign language is quite familiar to me. In fact, I plan to play Aquelarre from the Spanish edition and Miles Christi from the French original; however, I'm much less familiar with ...

Re: RPGs similar to Deus Vult?
What a pity! Can you elaborate on the contents of these books? If I understand correctly, Age of Chivalry was a new, expanded edition of Age of Eleanor. How much of RH contents is superimposable to these older books? The Age of Eleanor http://www.soltakss.com/merrieengland/ME_AOE_TOC.TXT and Age of...

Re: RPGs similar to Deus Vult?
Thank you for the info on your book(s); I'm an old customer of Alephtar, I like their games very much, so I'll definitely try Robyn Hode! However, when I tried to find it (and Age of Eleanor and Age of Chivalry) on the web I found nothing: - The links in your "buy it" page (http://www.soltakss.com/...

Just been at Alephtar's stall at UK Games Expo and Merrie England:Robyn Hode looks very nice indeed. We are there all weekend, so pop in if you are passing.

Re: RPGs similar to Deus Vult?
Merrie England: Robyn Hode is a supplement for Revolution D100, published by Alephtar Games. It is a continuation of the Merrie England series (Age of Eleanor and Age of Chivalry) but ported to Robyn Hode. A third is general Medieval England Background, a third is rules and a third is for the Robyn ...

Re: How to run a siege ?
Work out how much food and water the beseiged have and how many days this will last. See if the beseiged have a way of replenishing food and water, if so stopping them would be a scenario. If they have deep wells/ large cisterns then water might be OK, but food might be an issue. Find a way to get s...

Re: Hoping For New Legend Books In 2017
I have heard back from Matthew. Mongoose won't have any capacity to look at Legend for at least another 6 months, due to Traveller and Paranoia commitments. After that, it's a question of wait and see, I think, as they still might not have the capacity. However, they are still keen on publishing Leg...

Re: Hoping For New Legend Books In 2017
I will ask about the legend supplements that I have submitted.
Unless the answer is confidential, I will let you know, if confidential then I will let you know that.
Hopefully there will still be an appetite to publish Legend material.

Re: Fatigue in Combat
I just wouldn't say that reloading or drawing weapons counts as heavy work. Isn't Do Nothing a combat action, so if you are in combat and choose not to do anything, then you still effectively spend CAs not doing anything? That wouldn't cause fatigue either. Running around, evading, attacking and par...

Re: Starting GM - Worldbuilding
My view is always coloured by having played RuneQuest for a fair while and that is cult-based. Have a look at the sample cults in the Legend book and use them as guidelines. My completely unofficial rule of thumb is: Local Hero - One Common or Divine Spell National Hero - Two Common or Divine Spells...

Re: Starting GM - Worldbuilding
When I do WorldBuilding, I have to stop and not get lost in the detail. For Legend, look at what you absolutely need for Adventure Creation, Backgrounds, Professions and maybe Cults/Societies. OK, you need Backgrounds, so decide which backgrounds are available to the PCs, that will help shape which ...

Re: How how essential is Common Magic to you?
It depends mainly on the setting, really. Something like Glorantha would have oodles of Common magic being, well, common. Merrie England has a little bit of Common magic available through the main religions and cults, a little bit through Pilgrimages, some through guilds and organisations and some t...

Re: Mythology in Legend
Just saying - if the backlog is getting too big, maybe you need to find another way to get them published. Probably not the right thread for this, but ... I've got a few books with Mongoose for Legend that are waiting to go. I could self-publish but don't have the layout skills or the time to do it...
