Re: How to run a siege ?

Work out how much food and water the beseiged have and how many days this will last. See if the beseiged have a way of replenishing food and water, if so stopping them would be a scenario. If they have deep wells/ large cisterns then water might be OK, but food might be an issue. Find a way to get s...

Re: Hoping For New Legend Books In 2017

I have heard back from Matthew. Mongoose won't have any capacity to look at Legend for at least another 6 months, due to Traveller and Paranoia commitments. After that, it's a question of wait and see, I think, as they still might not have the capacity. However, they are still keen on publishing Leg...

Re: Hoping For New Legend Books In 2017

I will ask about the legend supplements that I have submitted.

Unless the answer is confidential, I will let you know, if confidential then I will let you know that.

Hopefully there will still be an appetite to publish Legend material.

I haven't heard anything about the supplements I submitted.

Presumably nothing is happening with them.

Re: Fatigue in Combat

I just wouldn't say that reloading or drawing weapons counts as heavy work. Isn't Do Nothing a combat action, so if you are in combat and choose not to do anything, then you still effectively spend CAs not doing anything? That wouldn't cause fatigue either. Running around, evading, attacking and par...

Re: Starting GM - Worldbuilding

My view is always coloured by having played RuneQuest for a fair while and that is cult-based. Have a look at the sample cults in the Legend book and use them as guidelines. My completely unofficial rule of thumb is: Local Hero - One Common or Divine Spell National Hero - Two Common or Divine Spells...

Re: Starting GM - Worldbuilding

When I do WorldBuilding, I have to stop and not get lost in the detail. For Legend, look at what you absolutely need for Adventure Creation, Backgrounds, Professions and maybe Cults/Societies. OK, you need Backgrounds, so decide which backgrounds are available to the PCs, that will help shape which ...

Re: How how essential is Common Magic to you?

It depends mainly on the setting, really. Something like Glorantha would have oodles of Common magic being, well, common. Merrie England has a little bit of Common magic available through the main religions and cults, a little bit through Pilgrimages, some through guilds and organisations and some t...

Ah well, that's a shame. If nothing happens, I might have to self-publish after all.

Re: Mythology in Legend

Just saying - if the backlog is getting too big, maybe you need to find another way to get them published. Probably not the right thread for this, but ... I've got a few books with Mongoose for Legend that are waiting to go. I could self-publish but don't have the layout skills or the time to do it...

Re: Mythology in Legend

I was just wondering myself if any add-on (official or not) exists to add or adapt classic human mythologies in Legend (Greek, roman, egyptian, ...), or any game-system compatible with it. Do you know something I could use ? There is no published guide to doing this, however, Legend makes it very e...

Re: The Concert Skill

I am using the Concert skill for metaconcerts in Legend:SciFi, it seems to work, but I need to playtest it to make sure. It is good to know that the skill works for magic and psionics.

Re: Adventure ideas

Sorry, been a bit busy and we haven't been ignoring you. :) Personally, I am not that keen on mixing post-apocalypse and straight fantasy genres. So, a ruined modern city and a dragon wouldn't be something that I would choose to run. As a player, it might be OK, though. The third one is more interes...

Re: Confusion runs rampent.

The Second Age stuff is definitely usable with legend and can provide a lot of good background. You can pretty much use anything from Second Age Glorantha with Legend with very few, if any, changes. Early Second Age material is compatible with RQM1 and is slightly different to Legend, later suppleme...

Re: Gamesmaster: Coercion Of Adventurers

Sure, if they resist they break the spell. If they don't they can try again the next round by spending a Hero Point.

I wasn't suggesting spending a hero point every round to see if they stay free from the compulsion. Instead this gives them multiple chances to break free rather than just one.
