Could be good to post a ToC preview wherever the book is sold. Is there an adventure as part of the book? If so, how many pages is it?

I certainly agree with lasers being the most popular choice, but also sandcasters. Each hardpoint mounted sandcaster holds 20 cannisters which don't take up cargo space, so I can see them being popular. I can't think of any starship combat at adventure ship level over my years of playing...

I'll be backing it and I'm sure that all of my regular groups will happily play it. Two of them tend towards more action-adventure games and I think Traveller 5e will be more to their liking.

I'm sure it is, but as one of the main criticisms of the game it seems a bit odd to include it in the advertising blurb.

"And, yes, your character can still die during character generation!" I would suggest this was possibly not the best thing to add to the sales blurb :unsure:

Too many pages to go back through, but more stand-alone books like Cluster Truck. Something somewhat isolated from known space and with a mini-campaign that can be played in 2-3 months of weekly sessions. Grand Imperium-spanning campaigns are great and all but I'm sure there are groups out there...

I thought Glass Cannon's Voyagers of the Jump was pretty good. I can't comment on the YouTube version as I listened to the podcast, but it certainly showed another way to play Traveller.

I think Glass Cannon doing Cluster Truck would be great publicity for Traveller.

I was re-reading this thread and remembered that Mongoose did produce a boxed starter set back in 2017(?). I couldn't find it on their site but here is the DTRPG page. The campaign book ("The Fall of Tinath" also available seperately here) is set in a single subsector that is WAY off from the 3I...

IIRC the Space Viking series by H. Beam Piper had ships spending hundreds of hours incommunicado in jump space. When it first appeared in the first book the story made a point of telling what the bridge crew did with all that spare time.
